on my trip during spring break i stopped by Orlando Florida on my way to fort Lauderdale. I picked up a can of Camel Spice and Camel Frost snus.

i waited till we were out on an air-boat to use it cause i would not be able to spit while on it. my normal nicotine fix is red man wintergreen snuff. when i was using camel on air boat i noticed there was not enough nicotine in it for my pleasure so i must put 3-4 pouches in my upper lip. doing this gave me that nicotine rush i desperately needed at the time.

it was nice not having to spit, but the product is overly priced. the spice was my favorite so far, it reminds me of black tea.

if anyone on this board comes across it in one of the test cities, its definitely worth a try. you'll have to decide if you want to buy it again and by my experience i'd say you won't.

I was able to obtain a tin of Camel Frost and enjoyed it. The taste is very sweet so when I am in the mood, it is very tasty. I would rank it with Catch Peppermint and Mocca Pomegranate as some of the sweetest snus I have tasted. In fact it is the sweetest, so if the mood hits you or just want a non tobacco flavored snus this is a good choice. There is a bit of nicotine present and did satiate my desire. The flavor also seems to last forever.

I just got 2 coupons for free cans of Camel snus in the mail. I see they're now only 15 portions per can. They were 20 when I was using them. (I switched to Swedish snus a few months ago.) I will probably throw away the coupons, since I have no use for that stuff anymore. But part of me wants to get them just to run some experiments. For one thing, I would really like to know how much a portion of Camel snus weighs. Is it 0.5g? 1g? I suppose I wouldn't be able to determine the relative nicotine content, unless someone here can tell me how to do that MacGyver style. Their website is hopelessly uninformative about these "trivial" details.

just got a new can of camel snus
they changed the portion .. it looks longer than it used to
still taste the same .. price changed to 3.99 .. was 4 something .. but it ended up costing 5.25 after tax
          15 snus's instead of 20
I need to invest in a credit card and get me some real stuff

From what I have seen written here, and from what my friends in Orlando tell me; the camel snus as maintained the same amount of actual snus in the tin but has decreased the number/increased the size of the portions.

I'll be going back to Orlando in another week or so and will most likely pick up some more frost.

I've got 4 of the "free can" coupons, may have to drop into a local shop and grab some cans.

I could see the spice and frost being a good "first date" snus. The tin looks like a mint tin (along the lines of altoids) and the smell is anything but candy when you open the tin. Nicotine and breath freshener all in one

Well i started on the Camel Snus, and thought that the Original wasn't absolutley horrible, and the spice was interesting (despite a total lack of tobacco flavor), The frost really didn't grab me, i'm wondering if bigger portions might change things a bit....

After my next buysnus order comes in I'll have about 50+ cans of snus in the fridge, time to take a buying break.

you know I am loving this Wolfpack Natural pouch. It is Loaded with tobacco flavor. At first its a bit much, but after a half hour its absolutely marvelous..... Swedish Match done it again! Another great American Snuff I found was Longhorn Finecut Natural... 99cents.... tastes awesome....

I'd be interested to find out what the nicotine content per portion is for Camel Snus. I've got two portions in right now for my morning fix and suddenly I am really craving a cigarette. This is the first time I have wanted a smoke in a couple of months. Hopefully my rolls of N&J and Lucky Strike will arrive today. I find I get a better feeling with the Tourney snus which I really don't mind. I don't know if they really have the packaging aspect down pat yet because sometimes they taste rather stale but if you wet them you get nicotine at least. I really would like to try Triumph but apparently, besides Ohio, they are only going to be released in Georgia in the near future.

Eh, I'm just over two months without a cigarette, last weekend I had some real cravings, and I made the switch form camel to swedish snus months ago, so I'm not sure I can equate anything in the camel snus to "making" me crave a cigarette... I think it's just that experience/habit/quick rush trying to force its way back..

thanks for the review. a agree that it sucks.
I agree, but american tobacco could never have been accused of overestimating americans intellegence or taste. (4 out of 5 doctors smoke camels!!)
Just judging from the reviews, it seems to me that they are either targeting kids or, as you said, trying to ruin the reputation of snus so that people will smoke anyway. Or it could be that they really are stupid, but with american corporations, I think that "Never assume malice when stupidity is sufficient to explain it" might be better reversed.
I think it's just a case of corporate greed and an unknowing American public. The majority of us never heard of snus until Camel and Marlboro started test marketing. I bought the Camel, it seemed OK, so went websurfing for mail order prices.

That's how I discovered there even was Swedish Snus. And a little more research showed me a local tobacco store that sold General. At the time, the Camel was $6 for a can of 20 mini's and the General Portion or White Portion was, with tax over the counter, $4.50 for 24 portions, 1gr each.

When I tasted the General Portion, I immediately threw out the Camel and never looked back.

The only problem buying from a local tobacco store that's a Swiss Match dealer is that General is basically all they let them sell. They offer the whole line in the US from their US website by mail-order. Since they have it in the country, I don't know why they don't make more of their brands available over the counter in the US.

I use BuySnus.com which was about $1 US cheaper with shipping and they ran some good sales last Christmas. But the dollar tanking against the Euro is forcing prices up. But at least I get a selection, and (knock wood) all my shipments have gotten through US Customs and to me in Texas in as little as 4 days by Swiss Postal.

I'm sticking with them for now.

I was in a local (D.C.) 7-Eleven the other night and was surprised to see for the first time a Camel snus display behind the counter with the cigarettes and other tobaccos. It made me smile, although I was not at all tempted to experiment. Half of my family is Swedish (Mom's side), so I grew up with the stuff around. Only now do I really appreciate it. Hopefully the U.S. brands will do a good job of bringing some good snus to the people to help them be healthier, happier people. Sounds like Triumph may be on the right track, and I'm curious to hear reviews of the new PM stuff.

I think I was craving a cigarette with the Camel Snus primarily because they are so dry, more so than most other white-portions. I am on medication that dries out my mouth somewhat and that makes things a little worse. I tried moistening the Camel Snus by swishing some water between my upper lip and gum and that seemed to do the trick. I still needed two portions though, which makes the Camel version a much more expensive option. Gods be praised though, my package arrived yesterday and I am much happier this morning with my M&J residing in my lip. Tastes sooo much better with my morning coffee than the overwhelming artificial sweetener Camel aspect.

I actually bought some of the TRIUMPH ORIGINAL and it was quite good. ALOT better than the camel kind. A friend of mine got some from camel through the mail as a promo offer.

Still to me the snus was a little too sweet , almost like american chewing tobacco, and its flavor has also been compared to that of peaches. It last forever though.

But ever since using traditional swedish snus from buysnus i find i enjoy the lemony/peppery flavor better. its just nice to know that while i wait on shipments i can enjoy this while i wait. Some of the users have actually listed triumph as one of their top favorites. It is definately genuine snus just a lil too sweet for me.

I hope all of you can get a chance to try it in the near future,
