I can go either way on the Catch Eucalyptus. I ordered one tin of it and I probably will never order it again, unless there's some kind of huge blowout on it. I did finish the tin of it though. I can't imagine throwing away snus, even if I absolutely loathed it.

Swedish snus is like no other tobacco product out there, and you might be surprised at some of the flavors you enjoy.
True. It is cheaper, but I just did a dummy run on the try out box minus the ones I dislike and added in a tin of Skruf Stark lös and GES lös instead and it works out about $6-$7 more expensive - lucky bastards that don't have to pay EU tax ;-)

Personally I think having a can or two of lös and more starks in the mix is worth it - especially if you were a heavy smoker.

lxskllr is right though about not having any preconceived notions though, and as Sagedil rightly pointed out it might be best to find out what you like for yourself. Case in point is Phantom Blue. Loved by some. Hated by others.

Oh and as Sagedil has mentioned before in other posts don't order rolls of anything until you are convinced you enjoy it.

And to add to the remark about buying rolls, I would wait a month or two before you buy a roll because some of the snus I absolutely LOVED when I started, don't taste that great to me now lol.

You found a great group of people here and I think you will be able to quit smoking for sure!

Welcome Ozmodius! You picked the right place for info. For some reason I've been slipping lately on welcoming the snus-curious(newbie just sounds so degrading to me  ). And I feel really bad about it since it was the vets making me feel welcome that drew me here!

        1. Goteborgs Rape #2 (my fav so far) 2. Nick & Johnny Stark (my second fav, I couldn't handle it all day though - to much nicotine buzz) 3. Skruf Cranberry (Seemed somewhat bland to me) 4. Skruf Original (haven't tried) 5. Skruf Stark White (A little flowery/oily odd taste at first, not so much bad, as just different - not sure on this one) 6. General White (Decent, a little saltier than the others to me) 7. Grovsnus (haven't tried) 8. Taboca (haven't tried) 9. Jakobssons Classic 10. Kronan (so far the only cheap one in the bunch, not bad but didn't last but about 30 mins for me)

This actually sounds like a pretty good mix! I almost hate recommending snus because I let my personal favorites get in the way. I pimp N&J and Claq Qui out like cheap hookers! But you have received some great suggestions so far, and it wouldn't hurt to go to Northerner and read some reviews to see if anything strikes your fancy.

Just my .02 but if you like Cope, you'll probably like the coarse grind los. American fine cut=Swedish course. The finer grinds are just too putty like. I would suggest Grov, General(all varieties), and Oden's for the los.

Well again I have run off at the mouth. But hey, I'm Irish, and we got the gift of gab!

Anyways a big hearty welcome. And happy snusing!

Thanks for all the suggestions guys... i'm taking them all to heart.

So, i've decided to make my own top 11.

I took the top 8 out of the Northerner Top 10 and added some of your suggestions....

          what do ya think?

edit.... one of the general portions is a white.

            Hi Oz

That looks like a nice sampler basket. I have to admit that Ordering like you guys do seems to have an advantage on the variety, some of the online shops have a huge assortment of snus, which would be close to impossible to find at a random store in Sweden, plus you seem to get reasonable prices on premium snus aswell, ofcourse ordering online is out of the question for me due to prices being ridiculously high

Yea, I'm excited about this. This is a dirt cheap addiction compared to cigarettes, I've been pay $5 to $6 USD per pack (1 pack a day) for a good while now. Even $4 a tin that will last me 2 days is a big cost savings, plus the bonus of being healthier, more fun, better tasting... its just win, win, win.

By the way chossy, can we be best friends? I'll need some one to send me care packages about once a month after the laws over here change. We can exchange items that each other can't get, or find difficult to get. Like snus for money or something... just sayin. I know back in the early 90's when I was stationed in Germany, Levis and Converse where very expensive there.

Oh.. I think i've been to switzerland once... may have been austria though.. it was a place called Sky Top ski resort. I got banged up on the bunny slope and spent the weekend getting hammered.

                Hi Oz

Anything for a fellow snuser, count on it buddy
If this would become reality, I guess many Swedes could find alot of penpals around the world, but hey, you can never have too many friends 8)

Hi Chossy. Welcome to the forum. The selection might not be the best at every shop in Sweden but at least you don't have to stock up like we do.

Have you tried Gotlandssnus? They have a webshop for deliveries in Sweden. Try the Yellow can (lös and portion) as they are both great. Personally I also enjoy the Anis (lös and portion) and the Flädersnus. The Jakobsson's Classic is good every now and again, but too much citrus for all day use IMO

Man, I love your attitude. The one thing I miss dearly from my stay in Europe was the people. They truely are the nicest people in the world. Very laid back, stress free lifestyle. Over here it's always go go go, move move move, more more more. And damn anyone that gets in my way. I know individually most are not like that, but as a culture we are. And at the rate we're loosing personal freedoms.. its just sad.

                    Thanks, and pm some time.

Now that is what I call a good order.

A lot of classics and and quite a few of my favourites - General (all varieties), Ettan, Grov, Skruf, Gotlands, Nick & Johnny.

Let us know what you think of them as soon as you get them!

wish my fridge was stocked with all that

However I´m quite pleased with my sampling of late myself.

All these are brands I tried out in the last few days and I gotta say I like pretty much all of them, though a few clear favorites are:

                            Probe Whiskey
                            Montecristo
N&J is for my stronger kick side

So all in all very good.

I have not tried the Romeo, cause i noticed when i got home that it was expired in date, so I´m gonna return that one tomorrow, hopefully get a montecristo for replacement

The camel and probe go well with an evening drink in my opinion so, light em if you got em

Keep us posted Oz, wanna know what you think of all the goodies.

Welcome to the forum Ozmodius. I got in on the discussion a bit late (work has had me away the last few days) but it looks like you made a great first order. Enjoy! Its a great adventure!
