Well, it's finally happened,. My snus honeymoon phase is ove

Even though I dipped for about 2 years before trying swedish snus, when i started snussin it gave me that feeling of "juuust right!", but not longer.

Now I buy only the stark portions or LOS and I use two large portions at once to even feel anything, and usually it ends up in me feeling nothing or feeling sick.

I tried going for a while without snus then restarting with lower nicotene content snuses, but all to no avail.

Will I ever get back my joy of snusing?

Did you have a "joy" when dipping? Or smoking(if applicable)? I enjoy the newness of snus, but while there is a large variety, I would think after a while, the newness would wear off, and it may just be what ones does, which seems much better to me than smoking or dipping(health and cost wise). But from our resident Swede here, I get the impression in Sweden, it is just something they do, and they usually just stick with one brand. So, I think in the end, the new exoticness would wear off, one would generally use one main brand, and it would sorta become how people smoke, in the way they just do it.

Yah, when I dipped I felt "joy" lol, but now even a can of copenhagen won't do it. I think I have finally hit that plateu where its just something you do to keep same, and occassionally catcha buzz but its hit or miss.

At least its not going to kill me and its cheap. I guess I won in that sense.

Well, I think anything done with the intent to "get a buzz" always loses it specialness with overuse. Like the binge drinking and use of various substances in the past was a great time, but it just isn't anymore now.

Yah I agree, and it wasn't just to get the buzz, but why do we all use tobacco, to feel something right?

When I was younger I was into some other more addictive things and as I got older and now have to work and support a family etc. I have since scrapped those habits. And I figure snus is the one that will kill me last, because I gotta have something.

Well, i'm not ready to jump off the snus train yet, because I still do get some enjoyment out of it, but I just miss the good old days.

But isn't that how it always is? Like you remember college parties as being so fun and eventfull and then when you eventually find your way back to one someday you realize its just a bunch of kids full of piss and vinegar inebriated out of their minds and nothing fun actually goes on there unless your single.

Its just the way of life

Try some nasal snuff. That can give a kick, esp if you have a snus in.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for.

I use snus specifically to feel nothing. Reason I love it as much as I do.

What do I mean when I say feel nothing. I mean that I never again want to feel that "need" for nicotine creep up on me again. I hated the yo-yo effects of smoking. That flash of nicotine that would then rush out of my system so 30 minutes later, I just HAVE to have a cigarette again. I don't like that feeling. Snus just takes care of my needs so I literally, never have to think about it again. Yes, occasionally, I will feel a little need, I use a sterk at those moments.

If you are talking about feeling a buzz, just won't happen as soon as your body gets used to it. Nothing you can do short of stopping any nicotine for 6 months. But even then, the buzz will go away shortly. The buzz is just your body's reaction to nicotine when it really isn't used to it.

I agree that snuff may give you some of that feeling back.

                Any suggestions?

I have noticed a few times people talking about a buzz from nicotine. I can honestly say that I can only think of a few times in my life that I've had a slight lightheaded feeling from tobacco products.

Honestly folks, if you want a buzz, smoke a joint. The "buzz" if it could be called that was so weak that to chase that in my opinion is idiotic.

I'm honest about it.. I use nicotine because I am dependent on it. My body craves it and I need it to stay level daily. Whether it was from smoking or from snus, I use it because I am too much of a pussy to quit.

I see tons of youtube videos of some snot nosed punks talking about the buzz you get from dip and it just makes think that they are so pathetic that they can't go out and get a beer or some bud and enjoy a real buzz.

If you enjoy snus, snus! If you don't, do something else!

Hope I didn't piss anyone off, but to use nicotine for the weak buzz is pretty lame, IMO.

Maybe we should all donate a dollar to research and figure out a nicotene flush that will somehow make you have that "first snus/cigarette" feeling. (Not the first one that made you sick though)

That or I could quit snusing... i'll go with pie in the eye attempt to beat nature for now.

Lets see, my first substance I will test to see if it cleans out my system will be a giant cup of cofee with some Goteborgs Rape #2

But this kinda relates to this too. I was doing nasal snuff like a fiend cokehead, but then the weather changed, or something, and I would get terrible stopped up, and I didn't want to be on the nasal spray all the time, and this is what got me interested to try snus again, as an alternative to snuff, and it seems I was doing snus wrong at 1st, which made me not like it. But back to snuff, the way I was doing it, the honeymoon was over rather quick. Then I started snus again, and this time i figured what I was doing wrong(placement of the portion), and stopped snuff for a while, so no whenever I do snuff, it's like the snuffs that before where like nothing, are a very strong blast now. But still I have to do it sparingly, as I am still getting stopped up quickly.

I've always used tobacco for the flavor, and if I got a buzz, I knew I was using too much. I hate nicotine highs, and will do what I can to avoid them.

This is one reason why I don't get how come more people smoke cigarettes than pipes.

To enjoy tobacco, a nice pipe of some fresh tobacco is how it should be done, not in a prepackaged dried out marlboro cigarette or whatever.

This is why I was never into smoking cigarettes, nothign attractive to me.

Your right about the buzz though, sometimes its too much. Its hard to find that middle point.
