    Acquired taste and the samplers

I went on a spending spree on snus before trying it. I was kind of intrigued and was swept up in the good things people have to say about it here and I can be impulsive sometimes. I spent some time reading reviews on getsnus before I bought my first roll, and I later purchased a few samplers and a couple more rolls. I know its not suggested way to do things, but here is my viewpoint on beginning with snus...

While definitely better tasting than the US Camel snus, its still an acquired taste IMO. I started out with using some of the canisters that I had a lot of, which were General Ekstra Sterk, Oden's Extra Stark and Claq Qui, and Thunder Frost. Aside from the frost having a minty taste, all the others have tasted mostly the same for about a week now. Which is salty. I can tell a slight difference between them, but its mostly like flavored salt still. As I read here, that goes away after a while.

I don't really know what my point is, other than saying it might not be so bad to pick up a roll of something just to become accustomed to the salt, before trying to find that one you like the most. Of course you could just keep ordering the mixed packs until that happens as well I suppose

I'm sticking to the sterks now. Maybe that is why they taste so similar? Are there more flavorful differences between the regular strength snus?

There are flavor differences in all varieties of snus, stark and regular alike. As your taste buds get used to the salt and become more refined, you'll hardly notice the salt and be able to pick out these differences in a heartbeat!

It'll just about get to the point where one brand will taste completely different than it did the week before.

Just keep trying different snus and more likely than not you'll find that a certaib snus that you initially loved, you won't like any more!

I've only been snusing for about 3 months, but I'm constantly discovering subtle flavors that I never noticed before!

What you are experiencing is completely normal. Just keep at it, and happy snusing! 8)

When I started not long ago, it seemed they all tasted like little bags of salt, and now they don't. They may have a general similarity, but once you get used to what seems like a high salt at first, there is differences. Also the los does not seem salty at all to me.

boy, I can't wait until I can taste more of the differences between the different flavors and brands. I go to the fridge to choose a snus (many different kinds open) and when I am there thinking about it I realize that it doesn't matter what I pick because they all pretty much taste the same to me. I do have a few that I despise but they are in the freezer until I can taste more of the differences. One of which is odens extra sterk cinnamon. bleh :?

Their differences show in time. You'll notice some you like, really like, some you won't like. When I 1st started, all I tasted was salt, that has all gone away for the most part.
