I'm no longer a snus virgin

I got my first can of real swedish snus in the mail yesterday. I ripped into the package as soon as I got home. Admired the can a sec and threw it in the frezzer to get cold while I ate supper. With supper done, I brushed my teeth then chatted with the wife for about 20 min to let my palate clear of mintyness from the brushing.

Let me digress. I'd like you to know that I LOVE to try new things. .... It's been one of the biggest pleasures in life for me. I love to travel, try new foods, new and horribly expensive scotch, and ofcourse weed. Every time I try something new I do my best to "Experience" it. So, with that said.. back to the story.

I opened the can. It's General White Portion from GetSnus, the free sample can for a buck.

I smelled it... and thought "HOLY SHIT THIS IS RANK". I'm not one to shy from any taste/smell, hell, i've tried balut twice just to give it a fair shake.

I pop one in and immediately get the sense that my favorite pair of timberlands that I wore with out socks for two years in highschool, just walked themselves through dog shit and jumped in my mouth.

    I've tasted worse (balut).

10 min later I'm streched out on my lazyboy trying to get a feel for this and soon the complexity of the taste comes through... I get a feeling, something like nostalga comes through. I can imagine walking into a very old english pub, with antique furniture, everything is made of old wood cleaned rarly but with lemon oil. I think to myself ... this is tasting better every min, and that it should go well with scotch. I pour myself a little 18 year old GlenFidich and i'm in heaven. I love this

So this flavor lasts just about forever, I poped it in at about 6:30 and it had good flavor till at least 11:00 when i went to bed. Sleeping with it in was no problem but all taste was gone when I woke up.

    A couple things to note.

    1. I dont taste that much salt... its there but not as much as i might like.

    2. If you take the time to smell the can 3 or 4 times in 2 or 3 min before putting one in, it might alieviate the initial WHAMO type flavor. It really does smell better the more you smell it.

    3. I'll never be able to use the two cans of camel crap I have left... maybe for an emergency.. maybe.

sorry this is so long, there was just no simple way of describing the flavor experience.

That was great, Ozmo! I love the smell of snus, and the salt. There are saltier brands for sure, if that's your thing. Grov original is good and salty. Gustavus, odens ES original... Mmm, salt.

and the really cool part is that there are so many different types of snus, all with their subtle and not so subtle distinctions, that you get that experience of trying something new all the time.

Ayy, you violated the most important rule for new Swedish snus users. Don't smell the snus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, just be patient. what you are tasting today you won't taste in a week. Your body does need time to adjust for the taste to settle to where it will stay. So just keep using, and soon, you really will know what the fuss is all about.

did you know Chuck Norris's daughter lost her virginity and he got it back ? maybe you can get it back if you decide you dont like snus
