I hate it about my money situation because I also want to try the new 02 thing as well. Might just order Discreet, a can of N&J, and that 02.

The 01 and 02 do look tempting. Do you know if Buysnus is the only vendor carrying it, or will others get it after Oct. 4th?

As far as I know they are the only ones.

So far Ettan is the only non-flavored I will definitely buy again. Probe too but I guess technically that is whisky flavored. None of the Generals I've tried so far have staying power. Will try their Wintergreen and if I don't like it, it will be awhile before I give them a go unless that is the only strong that will be available if PACT hits.

Love all the Thunder flavored ones so far. Looking forward to trying the Offroad flavors.

Maybe we should call this thread the "Wide Weird World of Snus" because Ettan is the one of the few I've tried that tastes like a salt lick to me.

I'm still going to go through a couple of cans of Ettan before I really decide. Maybe I will pop it in one day and it will be my new favorite.

I have only tried Ettan loose but for some reason, the salt doesn't jump out at me like it does with all the other brands of portions.

Ettan lös 5% salt, Ettan portions 2% salt
Which is strange because Ettan portions taste way saltier to me than the los. Must be that extra stuff they spray on the pouches.

It could be a typo on Northerner's website. (That's where the numbers come from)
                  or
It could be because the lössnus has glycerol + Propylene glycol, While portions only have Propylene glycol. Wikipedia says glycerol has a sweet taste so it's use in lössnus may (?) mask some of the salt.

I was thinking that the extra sweetness los has might be what's covering some of the saltiness but I thought the extra sweetness was from the direct exposure of the tobacco. Gotta love this forum, learn something new about snus all the time.

I guess the reason I like the flavored ones is they do mask the salt flavor. As I mentioned in my Wintergreen thread, I really do like the General Wintergreen better than any I've tried.

For those of you who have tried the O2, does it have much of a salt taste to it? How about the Nick and Johnny?

I put in a pris of my Ettan yesterday and while I noticed the salt a little, it didn't bother me as much as the Generals and Grov. It was still a really good tasting and relaxing experience. For you vets, do you think it had something to do with it being Ettan which comes highly recommended? or the fact it was loose? Does portion material have anything to do with the making the salt more noticeable?

No, Ettan has always had that reputation, portions as well

I finally got around to trying N&J and Im regretting I didnt get a 5 or 10 roll. I absolutely love it. Salt wise I personally dont think theres much of it but I am a fan of salty things. I still highly recommend it though, because to me personally, it almost tastes like a better Ettan.

                              Snus Salt Content

                              Hey,
I'm a fairly new user of snus (around 2 months) and whilst the overall health benefits in comparison to smoking seem great this is one topic I haven't seen covered. The salt content in our diets is something we are told to keep in check as too much salt can harm you in many ways and I was wondering if the amount in snus was high enough to warrant worrying about?

Sorry if this seems stupid it was just a concern at the back of my mind.

                              Thanks

Welcome To SnusOn. I read somewhere on this site when I first started that the salt content in snus is lower then drinking a soda. i.e. nothing to really worry about. Someone help me with this one!
