    Skoal dry and XQ's

Has anybody tried the Skoal Dry and XQ's?

Skoal dry is probably another american ripoff. might not even be snus as far as i know, probably just very dry skoal with different ingredients.

as far as the xq's, the flavors on northerner look interesting. some of them say 'tobacco and nicotine free', i guess that means pseudo-snus like onico or something? but the other flavors say tobacco.

I'd also like to know more about Taboka.

these brands besides the marlboro and camel snus attempts seem to have almost no talk going on here...did they fizzle out?

Just do a text search for taboka. I've described it in detail a number of times.

I'll bet that the Skoal Dry is just smaller portions of dip with a barely-there moisture content. I have some friends who've tried it and they said that it still gave them a stomach ache and didn't feel too good on the gums.

Personally, I don't trust Skoal or Copenhagen and I hope to never buy a U.S. Smokeless product ever again.

yeah that's what i'm thinking about the skoaldry.
i went to a gas station to get some cash from the atm but figured i could buy something to use debit to avoid the atm fee..so a last can of cope (the new kind, some smoked hickory flavor) and just try out the new flavor before i quit that garbage for good...didn't have it, had black...so i figured what the hell...of course the stupid cashier just automatically ran it as credit
so i had to use the goddamn atm anyway.
if i had snus i wouldn't have bothered obviously but i just ran out of smokes and it's at least a week before my snus arrives..
oh well at least this can of black is pretty decent..last time i had cope black it was shit.

Yeah, I'll admit that a while ago before my snus came I bought a can of Cope as well. Terrible shite. I asked if they had the black, just because it's far less nauseating than the original (and the bourbon flavor is actually halfway convincing) and they didn't, so I was relegated to the original straight stuff.

Thank jeebus my snus came two days later and I've never looked back.

Living in one of the test markets for Skoal Dry, I had actually used it regularly for several months before discovering snus. Skoal markets the brand as a spitless, smokeless form of achieving one's nicotine fix. It's fair to say that it does just that, but little more.

Sold in three flavours; original, cinnamon and menthol, the packs are the same size as mini portions one would find in snus. True to well-established form of truth in advertising Skoal Dry is dry. Very dry... as in no moisture in the packs whatsoever. Furthermore, their lifespan during consumption is not to last more than 15 minutes, as instructed on the side of the can.

Having since discovered and fallen in love with snus as a preferred form of nicotine delivery, I can't imagine wanting to go back to placing a completely dry mini pouch behind my upper lip for such short period of time. In the absence of snus, however, it does make for a barely adequate substitute.

To the consumer who has already developed an appreciation of moist Swedish snuff, in no way would I even recommend Skoal Dry as a comparable form of oral snuff. The differences in taste, texture and value are far too noticeable to serve any significant comparison between the two save for the method of consumption. Don't go out of your way to try it.

cool i've read a couple of your posts. not sure where to get the stuff though. perhaps if i read more i'd find out?

off topic...ya know ever since you got that ron paul graphic...it keeps making me think he's got a big fat wad of dip in the right side of his lip. i mean...look at it...lol.

reminded me of a myspace page for skoal i somehow found i guess while i was on that smpost board...i saw a pic of bush with photoshop-enlarged lip/cheek...and then i saw a couple other sites like that...having this apparent linkage between fondness for dip and support for bush. it weirded me out.
