    First Impressions

So far, i've decied that i'll keep 3 catagories of snus: All day, treat and stark.
Treats will be kept for 1 or 2 portion/pris a day, Starks i'll use when i feel the need for a bump of vitamin N, and all day snus will be my staples to use throughout the day.

The following reviews are of snus that i've used less than a can of each but more than 5 portions.

    Roda Lacket (white)
Mild flavor with hints of unidentifiable fruit. So far this has been a very nice all day snus for me. Not too strong, no overbearing flavors.

    Gote Rape (white)
A great medium strength flavor, slightly reminicent of General White. This will be a staple "treat" snus.

    Gotlandssnus Flader
Very clean taste, it tastes green. Very hard to describe the flavor, but it goes very well with Ice Tea with lemon. Because of the "clean" flavor this could be an all day snus but I can imagine this turning on me. So for the time being it is a staple "treat" snus.

    General Onyx
Strong, "in your face" flavor, the nic delivery is on the high side of medium strength but smooth. So far this is the only snus that the salt really comes through for me. This is border line treat/all day. The nic delivery is smooth enough that the portions last about 3 hours and flavor keeps up the entire time. I'm leaning towards treat because of the strength of the flavor. I do not want this to turn on me.

    Claq Qui
Medium to strong tobacco flavor with the slightest hint of fruit. Strong nic delivery that comes on pretty quick. This will definately be a staple sterk. I love this stuff, I chain snused them for a day and decided they can't be an all day due to the strong nic delivery.

    General Mini Mint (white)
Strong mint flavor, low on nic. This is a definate "treat" snus. I'll keep a couple cans in the freezer. I wish that they made a regular sized portion of this.

    Odens ES Kanel
Very strong flavor, very strong nic delivery. I have yet to be able to keep one of these in more that 30 min. Nic is simply too strong for me. I love the flavor though. Right now this is a no go. I'll probably try the regular strength kanel on the next order.

More to come as I work through my sampler.

I have a can of Odens Classic Kanel portion and loose, non stark, and I think they are both great. One of my fave brands so far. I've yet to try their non Kanel snus.

Ozmodius nice reviews mate. Not being a portion guy myself I've always wondered how Roda and Claq compared. Nice to see you review them back to back. Keep us posted and I would definitely give the Kanel regular a try.

Ozmodius, you seem to have fallen into a pattern I use as well. I have my regulars, my teats, and my sterks. Use all a bit differently.

Oynx is a treat for me. Too much for every day, but I have one open and have been having 1` or 2 a day for the past few weeks

That is a pretty close list to what I use everyday now, but the Odens ES Kanal is tricky stuff, blow your head off strong. It is what I would reach for if I had to have an arrow pulled out of my thigh! Bite the bullet so to say.

Keep us informed about what you like next month and the ones after that, I completely change my tastes all the time. Do not ever give up on a flavor, just set it aside and give it another go at a later date. There are so many tastes out there, and if you over use any one in particular, it would be rare not to burn out on it, rotation is the key for me, and the best advice I received from this board. Its a journey of self discovery! Enjoy. :!:

Ahhh Onyx. That and Grov Svart are my two favorite portions. Skruf Stark los is my love though.

You are dead on with the description of Onyx though. I call it silky, cause it is so damn smooth in everything.

I also would like a full size Mint. The General Wintergreen is ok, but I can't do much of that. Its too....something...can't describe it.

I haven't done a portion of Gote Rape, but I do like the los. I wish they made #2 in los, because it is one of the few fruity type flavors I actually like. Hmmm I don't know why I just thought of this, but I would actually love a Nick & Johnny's West in los form too.

Odens ES Kanel - again only in los form....that is the Cinnamon, right? And I couldn't even keep it in for 15 minutes for the same reasons. Good flavor, but I found it to pack horribly, and I tried several methods: icetool, prismaster, and hand baked.

Odens ES and ES Kanel lös are two of my all day snus...which probably isn't good for me. I found they had a pretty steep learning curve as far as baking them goes, but once you get the hang of it, a good one will stay up there for hours. I also wish they made a lös Gote Rape #2, along with N&J, Claq Qui, and plenty of others. I've just ordered some Claq Qui to try it out, but if I like it, I know I would prefere it as a lös.

                Skruf Tranbar
WoW! This is some good shit! Not sweet, not tangy. Lots of flavor. This one does finish (90min) with a little bitterness that i'm not fond of. I can over look that and just replace when it gets bitter. This is definately an all day snus.

                Gotlandssnus(yellow)
Medium flavor ... rolls into strong as it starts juicing. Interesting flavor, a little sweet. Not my favorite. I'll put this in the freezer and try it next month.

                Nick (and Johny)
Mild to medium tobacco flavor, salt comes through pretty good. Nic hits well, smoother than Claq Qui though. I'm loving me some N&J, will defintely be a roll or two of this in the next order. I'm still up in the air on stark or all day, this may be an all day snus for me. I'll chain it tommorow and find out.

                Grovsnus Svart (black)
Strong but melow flavor. No noticeable nic hit, but does satisfy. This will be a treat snus.
