    I Finally Did It

    No, not that.

I'm talking about ordering a can of Elixyr Energy. The curiosity was too much and I finally caved.

The really strange part is that I ordered five cans of stuff I haven't tried before. When I do this, I anticipate one of the new ones more than the others. By the time the order gets here, I know which can I'm going to open and try first and I look forward to it. Elixyr Energy is that can this time. I can't wait to finally try it despite the high probability that it will repulse me. The fact that it's an energy snus is intriguing.

What gives it the energy boost, anyways? Is it just caffeinated snus?

    Caffeine and Taurine

    Welcome to my world.

the deal with Elyxr is simple. If you are prepared for it to taste really strange, and trying it for the effects it gives, you ill probably love it.

The only folks, really, who have ever *hated* it tried it like it was any other snus and then got frustrated it was so weird. Go in with eyes open and prepared, and all will be fine.

Please do let me know what you think about what it does for you.

Elixyr is definately a snus to be used only for its intended purpose! but, it serves that purpose well. Don't expect to be running around like a chipmunk on crack.....but definately expect it to make that morning power up sooo much easier!

As far as the taste goes...it's NOT horrible! Yes it'a different, and it's not something you'll reach for as a nice tasty snus, but IMHO RedBulls have never tasted that great either, and look at their success! Since the inception of energy drinks, companies have been striving to make a better tasting drink, and I think in time, the same thing will probably happen to energy snus.

Like Sage said, just go into it with an open mind, and take into consideration its intended purpose, and I think you'll be quite pleased!!

I'm definitely going in with hopes of finding a new morning snus to get me going. I'm a big fan of energy drinks or coffee or anything to wake my ass up in the morning, so I'm hoping it fit my routine well.

I'll make sure to follow up with results.

Honestly, it works better than anything I ever have tried, been using it every day now for 15 months.

The order arrived yesterday. I popped one in yesterday afternoon out of curiosity and to be honest, it didn't do much for me. I attribute that to the fact that I had already consumed a lot of caffeine for a couple hours leading up to when the mail arrived. This morning, I threw another one in after I got up and there was a noticeable kick to it. It definitely accelerated me through that groggy, drag-ass feeling I experience every morning when I get up.

As for the taste, it's really not that bad. It tastes like a really artificial lemon flavor. I've tasted this taste before, but I can't quite put my finger on exactly what it is. It does kind of smell like lemon pledge when you first open it, but the taste is more subtle than it's smell.

            So far, I'm a fan.

I'm going to guess it's like "Joose", if you've ever had that. It's basically a fruity malt liquor with tons of guarine/taurine. The point is you drink it for effect, not because of the impeccable flavor.

There's something about those energy herbs that just naturally tastes horrible... it's just a manufacturing challenge to overpower that taste with something else.

Ive never tried Joose, but I can't imagine any beverage tasting like Elixyr. It's not bad in an energy drink kind of way. It's bad in an artificial way. It's not that it's really even that bad, it just tastes like a really bad lemon imitation.

When I put my finger on the flavor and where I've had it before, I'll post it up here. Overall though, I really enjoyed it and it will probably be my first snus in the morning for a while. I'll definitely order more of it.

I liken it to folks who are addicted to scatology. It's just a mental defect. They can't get enough of that shit!

I originally got the stuff as a "surprise" can in an order, and tried it before I read some of the incredibly negative reviews here. I wasn't an immediate convert, and I will agree that the stuff is some kind of odd funk, but to be honest, I've never found it to be as disgusting as some people make it out to be.

Sage's constant praise of the stuff got me to order a few cans in the last massive order I placed at Northerner, and I don't regret getting them. They do their intended job well: waking me up on those extra difficult days. I don't regret keeping a small amount of it on hand.

The "lemon pledge" assessment of its smell seems to be fairly accurate (I just sniffed one of my open cans of it.) I've been trying to find a way to describe the stuff for months now.

I'm definitely going with the lemon/pine sol description, but I'm going to have to go further on this and posit that it reminds me of soiled mop water, especially when it starts to run...

After all that....I'm trying to decide whether I should order a roll or just put used coffee grounds in my los.

Awwwww... the Sparks of snus. I've yet to try it... perhaps I'll throw in a can with my next order (gasp). The chemistry would be beneficial for long days at work. Perhaps I wouldn't have to throw down ~$2.00 a day on my caffeine crutch (Monster).

Royksprekk, I am really happy you find it useful.

I am just on a long crusade to challenge reviews that just knock t casue it tastes so strange with no reference to it's only purpose. It is an energy snus. No way to fully mask the taste, especially the taurine. But if you keep an open mind and assess t in how it makes you feel, iyt really works for a growing group of people. It s a top 10 seller for God's sake, so someone is buying a lot of it (beyond me...LOL)

So I love reading reviews that focus on how it makes people feel. Again, not everyone gets a kick from it, but I have found most do who give it an honest and open minded appraisal.
