    Want to feel the burn

My inventory: Thunder Wintergreen Extra Stark, Skruf stark white, Claq Qui stark, Nick (and Johnny) stark, General white portion, general dry mini mint. On the way are Roda Lacket white, general wintergreen white, and catch eucalyptus white. I went with whites because I make a lot of saliva...the regular portions turn to mush fairly quickly.

When I first quit smoking I found I needed the stark portions to replace my cigs, but now it just seems like too much nicotine and I'm trying to transition to regular portions (hence the new order). Not sure what to do with my overabundance of starks except use them when I just want an extra thrill!

However, the one thing I'm missing is the burn. When first I snussed, the stuff burned my gums something special and I guess I associated the flow of nicotine with that burn (kinda like cigarettes and the burn sensation on the lungs). Now that the burn on the snus is gone, I know I'm getting the nic hit but I just don't feel satisfied the same. I've actually taken to licking and sucking on the snus while it sits on my gums so I can get enough juice to burn my throat.

Sadistic? Maybe. I'd rather something that just gives me the burning sensation.

Anyone have a good snus that gives your gums that stinging burn I crave?

Sorry, once you get used to the snus, then the burn just goes away. I suppose you could quit snus for a year but that doesn't seem worth it to me.

btw, very typical to downgrade to regulars after a while. I too used mostly only sterks from about 2 - 5 months of snus usage, then I just used sterks when the need arised. These days, I just a sterk about every 3 hours.

      Mint

Wintergreen might do it a bit. Any minty one seems to have that effect to some degree or another...

Also, have you tried swapping the side your snus is in?

Yes, I swap with each snus (if not mid-snus). I'll see how the wintergreen does when my General comes in.

Maybe I need to start soaking my snus in hot sauce. =D

I soaked some snus in freshly squezed orange juice recently (http://www.drsnus.com/?p=223). It gave a different kind of burn at first. Salsa could work. Actually, if you sealed some snus in a container with a jalapeno for a few days, it might make it awesome. Or, it could burn your face off... also awesome, but in a different way.

You could probably mix in some Wasabi powder in loose.

I think that would do more to the sinuses. Habanero power would better give the peppery burn, and be longer lasting imo.

Habanero seems like it would eat your gums up. You can't even touch it for long with your hands or it will burn them up.

You might be able to back down on that... maybe use jalapeno. I've honestly never considered it. I just pulled the pepper out that I knew would give a nice burning sensation :^P
