    Lös Tin Material Preference *POLL*

This has come up a few times, and I haven't really gotten a grasp on what the percentages are. I'm guessing 60/40 in favor of plastic.

I prefer paperboard due to tradition, and it makes less garbage, as you can't recycle snus tins where I'm at. With the paperboard, I could thrown my empty under a bush, and it would probably be gone at the end of the year. The only change I'd like to see is for SM to go back to the tin lids. They're more durable, easily recycled, and much nicer looking. I guess my second choice would be tin. Tin's very nice looking, but more expensive to produce and ship.

I hear ya lxskllr. Unfortunately, in the south all that cardboard tradition begins to fall apart in your pocket on a hot muggy day, especially if you’re sweating or get caught in the rain. I’ve had the bottom of a Grov can pull away from the rest of the container just working in the yard. To me the plastic is more durable and seems keeps the snus fresher longer. So put me down for the new fangled plastic snus transportation unit.

I agree that plastic seems to keep los fresh longer....and I have also had the cardboard ones fall apart on me, although it was because of condensation in the fridge. Tin is cool, but obviously more expensive.

      My vote: plastic.

Went with plastic as well for the reasons mentioned above.

As much as I like the cardboard tins I am going to have to opt for plastic. I find that if I dump my Ettan/Grov/General in an old Gotlands tin it doesn't dry out as quick.

I actually said the paperboard, because it seems more biodegradable than plastic. It just seems there is so much plastic trash with about everything. I see the point the about the plastic holding up more, but I just use los at home, so I never had those issues.

This is a valid point, but I am able to recycle all my cans (paper & plastic) so less relevant for me, and probably another reason why I ultimately picked plastic.

Plastic for me too, for durability, no wax in the snus, and because I can recycle them where I live. I like that both are available though, and agree that if paperboard is used, tin lids should also be used.

They oughta just put it in a sealed wax paper bag and have it in a cardboard box, like raisins.

I am all touchy feelly about the biodegradable waxed paper, but I have some serious storage needs with los, I prefer plastic.

                        I voted old school.

I do agree snus holds up better in the plastic cans.

Metal cans are too heavy. Either hard to open or loose fitting lids.

I just have a phobia about plastic leaching chemicals into my food and stuff. I never microwave food in plastic containers. I know, the snus cans isn't exactly the same thing. When I was 19 I worked in a vinyl extrusion plant. No one had been there more than ten years. The guy that had been there like 9 years didn't exactly look that "healthy" either. The PVCs and crap scared me. The warnings written on the gaylords of plastic gravel were enough to make me quit in three months. The fumes helped to.

I use a Knox bottom in my Icetool loose snus box for my favorite snus. The Knox can is black, like my lid, and meets up just frickin perfect. My snus stays fresh in it forever.

                        I still voted paperboard.

i called plastic, but i'm still a noob. i like the plastic because i can add my secret ingredient to it and mix it up in the can when i want that extra "ommph" from my snus.

I know I already said this, but after paying closer attention to it, I'm glad to have both. I wouldn't like to see it go completely one way, paper or plastic.
