    It's funny - even though we have some really vicious liquorice here, I can honestly say that the meanest type I ever tried was British. As a kid I once got hold of a mean black stick, and despite it being only 10 cm long it took me close to a week to finish it (it was hard like a frigging rock!). Never since have I had anything nearly as strong and tar-like in taste. Wish I could remember the brand ... :roll:
