Time to branch out

Been snusing nearly a year now, and have fallen into a routine of ordering General ES portions and Skruf Stark portions (when I first started I flirted with los, but couldn't hack the messy removal process).

I'm very keen to try some of the other stuff out there (brands and flavours) and am gonna place a big order soon, including lots of taster cans. Any other brands I should should look into? Or more precisely, steer clear of (don't say Elixyr as pehaps uniquely among humanity, with the notable exception of Sagedil, I've tried it before and found it OK...)

Are the cheaper brands like Phantom and Offroad worth a punt?

Phantom Blue is just strange. I disliked Phantom Brown at first, started to like it more and more. Should be trying my 2nd can again soon. I just tried Phantom white for first time, liked it more and more as I used.

Most folks don't handle Offroad too well. But to each his own, so I guess you should try for yourself

My gig is los so I won't be much help to you with portion suggestions. However, I have had Retro and Thunder frosted and think that you will not go wrong with either.

well if u like the general flavor profile i highly recommend gotlands yellow, its like general, but better

nick and johnny is a good strong portion with a citrus/tobacco flavor, that'd be a good one for ya

gotlands green is one i recommend to every1 its totally different than any snus out there, must try at least once

and since i mentioned the other two the gotlands anis is awesome if u like anise flavor

jackobssons original is a good citrus/tobacco snus worth a try...

ettan is great if u like pure tobacco flavor

toboca is a good brand to try for bergamot type flavor like skruf

i'v mellowed out alot on my variety of brands, i still love to switch it up but skruff origional/stark, ettan and gotlands green are my mainstays so i feel ya man

also i would stay away from the budget brands, i havent really tried them so i cant say how good they are or arent but its such a small amount of money you save and with the risks to your health tobacco poses in any form i feel one should truely enjoy their tobacco product

the only offroad brand i like is cranberry. i would suggest looking into thunder frosted if you like ES, as it's my favorite and packs a hell of a nic hit. offroad also has a strong cranberry which i'm about to try, i'll let you know what i think - but i'm sure it's good. their cranberry is better than skruf cranberry, IMO.

Well,since nobody's said it yet, Claq Qui. I thought it wold be okay, but thought maybe the hype was overblown.. Ordered one can and now I'm getting antsy waiting for more to come in, as I'm down to my last portion of it.

haven't tried claq qui, it's one i've avoided, i hear it's quite intense. but i think i'll be checking it out soon.

Claq Qui tastes very good. I actually prefer it to Nick and Johhny.

You should try it Chadizzy1. N&J is too salty for me sometimes. Claq Qui has a subtle twang to it. It never gets "stale" or boring to me.

Plus the can is really bad ass with the blood splatters on it. 8)

BTW XMan welcome aboard brother. We're glad to have you. After a year of snusing you can help give advice.

I use 50/50 loose and portions. I have a phobia of the portion material eroding my gums. The loose feels so nice and putty-like.

I am so grateful to have found snus and this board of great people I can share it with.

Nobody else said it, so I will. LD lös or portions. I HATE Anis, but I hear LD Black is really good also.

Phantom is great. I like all 3. Offroad is hit or miss, depending on you, but the Offroad lös has tons more fans than the portions.

Besides the anis flavored snus the only ones I avoid are Elixyr and Probe. Both seem to have fans tho' ... Probe more than Elixyr but still...

yeah i forgot about claq qui, that would definitely be one for you to try... i should really grab some more of it on the next order, dunno why it slipped my mind, its a fine portion!

Chadizzy didn't you say in an earlier post that you've tried every snus? I thought that was impressive. Get on some claq qui brother! I'm kind of over it for some reason but for a while I thought it was super good. Still do. And the blood splatters like baker said... Its a solid snus

offroad wintergreen made me puke only snus i had to toss. even level diddnt make me nauses. claq and thunder are great

But with my recent order I've covered all the above ones and ordered some Claq Qui about 5 minutes ago. Soon as I get through these I'm going to start rolling through los.

Grov Svart is great. It's a white portion colored black and it has a really unique flavor. Like anis and tobacco with a hint of vanilla. Sort of. It's hard to describe but it really is good! The nic hit is pretty good too.
