First time loser today

Got my icetool and one tin of General Extra Sterk.

I was surprised at just how mucky it all was and also at how easy it is to use an icetool. I was also pleasantly surprised that everything held together.

But I was quite underwhelmed by the whole experience. The taste just isn't the same. Granted it's less salty. The nicotine delivery was however very good which is the whole point I suppose.

It's also pretty gross getting rid of the stuff and you have to rinse every time so I won't be using it anywhere else but at home really.

But what is clear is that Portion Snus and Los Snus are two completely different experiences and I don't think at this stage that either one is better than the other. I might err on the side of portion Snus though.

What I do like about it is the ability to control how much you want. I've got some Odens portions that are too strong now that I'm a more mature snusser, so I've broken them down and added some water - it works perfectly with the Icetool. I stick it up to one notch for the Odens so it'll save me some money rather than binning them.

I cannot see for the life of me why anybody would use more than three notches???? Animals.

My experience was much like yours. It seems like a fun novelty to use the ice tool but impractical for day to day office life...

Using lös now is just like using portions when you first start. After awhile you'll be able to pick out the subtleties, and it becomes a different experience. Also, as you get experience, you can control the pris better, and it's almost as easy to hide as portions are. For the IceTool, I use 2 clicks always. That's the perfect amount imo.

For me portions and los each have their place. Los is my mainstay and my love but portions fill that spot when discretion is needed.

The whole rinse thing is a part of los so I guess in certain more restrictive office settings los would be a challenge to use especially as your staple form of snus.

Tonight is meet the teacher night at my kids’ school. So it will be portions all the way. They are discrete, convenient, and easy to ditch if I need to. When I get home, it will be back to the los.

With all my joking around on the forum about los vs. portions- portions have been a godsend. They allow me to snus in places and situations I could never have used dip. They allow me to stay focused in long meetings and to keep the nic ghost away in more public/refined settings. Thus they will always have an important place in my rotation. For me its not “either or” but a wonderful “both and”

Nicobuzz you might want to try another lös before you decide. GES if one of my favorite portionsnus and I was not impressed with the lös version either.

I'm geting the impression that I'm turning into a lös fan. Later on today I will finish of my 3rd can of lös. So far I have used LD, GES, and Skruf. I just put my first pris of Prima Fint in 30 minutes ago.

I have already gotten to the point where I prefer handbaking. You know what they say about practice makes perfect. 8)

Being a lös user I feel a lot more comfortable about being able to make my own snus should the government start taxing the **** out of it or outlawing internet sales.

I've been using loose all day and I've just popped in a Claq Qui.

Well it was like sex............................without the mess.

Maybe it's the GES is just shit. It's completely tasteless. I'd get a better snus by sticking the icetool in my cats litter tray.

I'm a huge N&J and Claq Qui fan. Is there any los out there that will give me that great N&J/Claq Qui experience?

I've seen your posts on Los Sage and now I'm realising the truth I think.

Snus is a journey - and there have been expensive mistakes at times.

On the up side - I got 10 tins of N&J with the order - and only bought one tin of los.

OK, I am finding I am still learning more when it comes to snus.

When I 1st tried los, I did it by hand, and it was OK. I later made a homemade "icetool", which seemed easier, but I was "injecting" it straight up and down, so it was like a had a vertical mini-tootsie roll in my gum/lip. It wasn't very comfortable at 1st, but when it softened it was OK. Then I realized it's injected at a horizontal angle. That made it better, but still, I had a horizontal mini tootsie roll in my gum.

Now, I just made a big los breakthrough. With the Prismaster, I just now realized I was doing it wrong, and doing it like I did my home thingy at 1st. I just now filled the Prismaster with Offroad Cranberry, and injected it at a horizontal angle, and wow, this is so much better! The oval curve of the Prismaster makes this super form fitting and comfortable.

I wanted to post this, if anyone else was doing what I had been doing. So, inject the Prismaster at a horizontal angle and nudge into place.

General los is crap. I can't stand it. For the life of me I cannot figure out how it is so popular. To me it tastes like bland putty.

Try one of these:
Knox, Skruf, Phantom (classic or blue) Gotlands yellow (i.e. gul), or Granit.

They are all flavorful and less expensive. Put one or two in your next order. I think you will see a different side of los.

Also for now avoid Ettan, Prima, Roda and Grov. They are some of my favorites but tend to be a bit more subtle. That said you will definitely want to try them at some point if you stick with los. Just not right away IMO
