Review of Jak. Original, Camel White, and Level

I will apologize for the long post now. So I got my order today, (they gave me some free nicotine gum, which was cool) and the first thing I do is open the cans and smell them. I started with the Level. First off the can is not very impressive, no used portion lid, cheap design, but whatever, it's the snus that counts. The smell was not pleasant at all! I know snus smells funny to newcomers, but I've smelled enough different snus to come to embrace it. Level does not. The Camel White can is stylish! Flip top lid, sexy silver, Camel has it going on! The smell was fantastic. Reminded me of General, but slightly different. I ordered the Jak. Original because someone told me it had a slight orange taste. The can is of course cool as hell. Love the compass. I did smell a slight orange to it, but could tell it would not taste like discreet juicy orange. I decided to go with the camel first. I love it. I could easily see this as an all day snus, and know now why Sage is upset. I left it in for about 20 minutes to give it a full review before I drank a Corona. The taste with beer was great. I hope somehow we can still get this snus. I haven't tried the others yet as I started to drink and want to give them an unbiased review. I must admit though, the Level scares me. I will taste them and post later on.

Yeah, you hit it on the nail. I lost my only true ALL day snus today. retro, camel and LS white all fit that bill in one way or another.

cj, I vowed revenge on Level the day I tried it.. How dare something that vile call itself snus. I vowed to not rest unto every single snuser in the world new how bad it was.

All right, last night while drinking and playing on Xbox Live, I tried a Level. I was about 6 beers in, so it just tasted like snus. I thought well Level isn't so bad. This morning I got up, fixed a cup of coffee, and decided to give it a clean shot. The first 5 mins wasn't bad at all. I thought to myself what's the big deal, why does almost everyone hate this snus. Then it came. It tasted like dirt. Pure dirt. It also had a slight burn feel to it after 10 mins. Kinda reminded me of the burn from Camel Mellow. Dude, how in the hell can you like this stuff. The only way I will make it through the can is have one after I'm drunk, and can't really taste it. My wife looked up from her book at me and asked me what was wrong as I had a weird look on my face. I explained the whole Level thing and she laughed. The only snus I've left in for that short amount of time was the first time I tried Camel Frost about six months ago and was still smoking 2 packs a day, and only tired it out of curiosity. I had no clue about swedish snus or snus in general. Sorry cj, I will not be pimpin' the Level.

To my tastes Level has nothing really going for it, so why bother?

I can go out to my compost pile and get a handful of compost, come back in and add some salt, and then wrap a bit in an empty teabag, and I'll have Level snus.
