sage, you still have oden's es kanel portions, which is god's snus. god told me that is his favorite snus. to me, snus is women. sure, some leave you in tears because you loved them so much, but, there are others. see... the way i see things is that we're lucky to experience things in life, even if only once. i know you may disagree with that but that is how the world spins around.

i hope you find the snus that will take the place of what isn't anymore.

sage, I've been thinking since this happened that Grov White would do you well. I've only been through a few cans of Retro, and honestly as far as I can remember, it reminded me of a perfect mix between Grov and LS - which is to say, salty tobacco goodness with a bit of the smoke flavor of Lucky.

While I agree with the sentiment, this is the type of thing I think we'd be better off without. It ends up devolving into a back/forth argument that doesn't get anybody anywhere. I would respectfully suggest that anybody that has a problem with another member take it to PM if it's that big a concern. If it isn't worth the hassle of a PM, maybe it isn't worth saying at all ;^)

Ah, I was signing on to delete the post, but I'm too late. Lol lxskllr, the bold face strikes again. Hooker, I'm over it. I was drunk and you done pissed me off. What to do now? Just keep this place cool. Lxskllr, I would never call someone out on PM, because there is no reason on this forum to call someone out privately. It rarely has to get done, but as you know in the short time I've been here, I'll do it, and when it has to be done, it's a public affair. People who offend other people on this forum offend way more than one person, and that's just the way it is. I think we do a great job of keeping this place cool and calling people out when it needs to happen. That post got to me personally, so I responded. An attack on someone who doesn't deserve to get bummed out by some asshole is an attack on those of us who try to keep this place free of all that. I don't care to participate in any other internet forum; I don't even know what they are like -- hence my inability to quote another post until a month ago (and snusdog too!). So yeah, it's corny maybe and annoying when I get all pissy, but I try to maintain the respect that I think this place deserves. I'm not a fan of White Portions, but I can tell you that Grovsnus Original Portions taste very similar to Retro Original Portions. Hopefully the similarity translates over for the white portions.

So.... why the hell was the Retro line pulled? The cans were redesigned recently when BAT bought out F&L. As well, I'm VERY upset I can't order Lucky Strike anymore, even though its for PERSONAL use.

You go, girl! Have you tried/what did you think of Grovsnus Svart? I know it's different than Lucky and Grov White, but it grew on me and now is a staple. That base rich tobacco/salt flavor is still there like the other Grovs....the Black is just a little more..interesting.

I think I mirror sage's tastes but I prefer original portions to his white portions.

GrovSvart is just too "rich" to be an all the time, day in, day out snus. Because he likes Camel. I'd suggest LD portions but that makes it more of a replacement for Camel than it does for Retro.

Yeah, I think that have higher hopes for LD than anything. Maybe just cause I don't thnk I have ever tried LD White before. But will in a few weeks after make my next order. Really looking forward to it If I can at least get close to replacing Camel white, will be OK.

Now a few other points.

Umm...you do know that I am very much a guy. Old enough to no longer care what folks call me..still.

Yeah, I like Grove Black. But you know that is a whole different type of snus that has nothing to do with Retro. It is very rich , a great snus occasionally but no way could I use that every day. So not applicable here

Anyways, let us focus this thread back onto what is about, my Replacement of Retro.

Look for my comments on my first test, Granit White by the end of the day. I should be done wth the can by then.

Sage, I think you will be well served by LD, and maybe Granit. You know in most cases I despise white portions, but LD portion is my mainstay and the only portion I buy in a roll. I always thought Granit was Retro done better.

Not that anyone cares but I have no issue with Sage going a bit nuts about losing his favorite snus. G*D knows if they ever take away my beloved Tre Ankare I will throw a huge hissy fit for a few hours.
