Nicotine overdose?

How much nicotine is needed for an overdose and is it even possible by using snus? I'm only asking because sometimes I feel like im on the verge when using a Thunder and using a few bits of snuff. Is a nicotine overdose even possible?


Another question, how much nicotine is in a snuff like Toque compared to snus or a cigarette?

I believe it takes 40-60mg of nicotine all at once to provide a lethal dose. You absorb less than half of what is present in the snus, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

If you get too much nicotine you WILL get very sick for 30min to an hour, but that's probably it.

wikipedia says that the rule of thumb with nicotine is take your body weight(in pounds), half it, and that's how many mgs it could take to kill you.

now, i'm sure this increases with use as you build a tolerance.

also keep in mind that nicotine has a half life of 2 hours in your body. so that means every 2 hours half of the nicotine in your system will be gone.

It is difficult to overdose, but possible. but if you're not deliberately going overboard you should be fine. You'll feel really sick before you even get close to death.

You have to remember that only a small percentage of the nicotine in snus gets absorbed into your blood stream. I think it's somewhere in the 10-20% range. So even a extra sterk portion with 17mg of nicotine only results in a dose of about 3mg.

LOL I remember the first few cans of snus I got made me feel so euphoric. My head would spin and I'd have a big shit eating grin for no reason

The euphoria happened with a fat pris of Ettan Los last week. That's when I officially fell in love with los. Talk about a good mood!

But it's always been about the taste and enjoyment with snus, not about nicotine maintenance. If I wanted that, I could just take up crappy cigs again.
