    General Menthol?

    Hi,

I recently just heard about this, but it seems to be a South African exclusive. Anyone here tried this? With the green can, it makes me think maybe a renamed wintergreen, but then, menthol and wintergreen are not the same. So what could it be?

Weird. Has anyone tried menthol snus before? It would definitely be cool to try assuming it isn't just rebranded Wintergreen.

Never heard of it, tried it, or seen it for sale in any store.

I was suprised to see it. It's not even mentioned on the Swedish Match and General website. Being Menthol is popular in America, if this is not wintergreen, which it should not be, eucalyptus is more menthol than wintergreen, I'd think this would attract American users.

I would so totally buy that stuff as long as it wasn't made 'sweet' like the wintergreen is. I love Catch's menthol.

I've seen it on sale in South Africa along with the General White portions at most tobacconists. I've never picked up a can as I am not that much into mint flavoured snus of any kind.

My fiancée is going down to SA at the end of September so I'll ask her to pick up a few cans so I can compare it with the Wintergreen that Pete kindly sending my way.

Ps: I do think however that it is simply wintergreen rebranded. Wintergreen is not a flavour that most South Africans would be familiar with. Interestingly its been on sale down there since the beginning of 2008. When did Wintergreen hit the US market?

There is a mailorder house out of South Africa that will ship to the US.

He's out of General Menthol at the moment. But he does have 3 flavors of Peter Stuyvesant snus (Tropical, Mint, Coffee) The price on the snus itself is reasonable but the shipping charges are expensive.

I'm thinking about putting in an order for some stuff, but shipping alone is 28$, but the snus is around 2$ to 3$ a can. Anyone want to go in on an order with me?

                    Maybe... does he carry Luckies?

I cant stand General Wintergreen but the menthol actually sounds good (if its not just re-branded WG)

Yes and no, it's not the same Lucky as you get in Sweden/Norway. It's made for the local tastes.

And he is willing to quote you cheaper shipping. Get your order together first and then email him. It will be a little cheaper but not by much.
