I created a button for my blog, curious whether or not we can use it.

EDIT: I removed the link and the image so it won't be shared until Ice approves it.

Looks nice.

I don't know how I feel about advertising our little world.

I think the reason we have it so good is because the people who find us only do so out of a genuine interest in snus.

What kind of people would post here if they casually came across us with no real intention of needing help making a valuable contribution?

I get a ton of emails a month asking me what the best forum site is for snus information, and I think part of that is me trying to curb those emails. I got probably 5 this morning alone.

We are a great social network. As far as a news source. Some other guy :roll: went that way already. We are good at keeping each other informed.

We do pretty good at being a community, but maybe Ice should decide how he wants the "face" of SnusOn to be advertised.

It's like making your own ad for something that is chique because it's not commercialized. I feel like it's not our place to hijack how SnusOn looks and feels.

It is cool that you know the pre-eminent source for all of coolness related to snus is SnusOn and that you answer your emails that way.

I'm interested how everyone else feels. We are a community after all. I just feel like SnusCentral has the whole "badges" and ranking thing that makes the whole process of sharing info feel too structured to me. I would hate to be accused of copying his style.

I have mixed feelings. I largely agree with bakerbarber. But tom502 made an excellent point, it is a snus blog for God's sake. So obviously, anyone reading it would have strong interest, at least, in snus, so SHOULD know about us.

So I guess I see no problems with it, if it is only posted in that context.

Someone said something about the badges at SnusCentral, and I don't think badges are good because it promotes a hierarchy. Even though some members have way more posts than others - I think what makes SnusOn great is that we are all the same, everyone has input, and no one is regarded higher than anyone else. Though some opinons are more strong (yours, sagedil, etc), no one establishes themself as an authority, and thats what makes this place great!
But as far as images go, I think it's a great idea to share the site. The more people we steer here, the more we can help on their snus journey. Which is why I shared it on my blog. I can offer my opinions all day, but I am not the end all authority on snus, and the more opinions people hear, the better, in my opinion.
