    Los and Salt

Ok so here is my problem. I love los snus, but apparently i started on the brands wit little salt e.g. RL, Grove, Skruf. and they are awesome.

Recently i have been expanding my snusing with general and goat rape. gaot rape has a real nice taste but but its way to salty for me, and general i cant even put in my mouth. i know it probably would have been different if i started with other brands and got used tt the salt but sadly that ship has sailed.

so what im asking you los snusers out there, is what would you recommended i try from the los line that has as little salt as possible. i am curious about other snus flavors out there to try, but well i already know that i will hate anything wit heavy salt.

    Tlaloc,

That is completely normal for a new snuser. That heavy salt taste disappears after a couple weeks of snusing. For the time being I would suggest trying some Ettan which is low in salt. Or you could try something like General Wintergreen and it will mask the taste of the salt.

Keep retrying that snus again in a week and then again a week later and I promise you each time you will notice less salt as time goes on.

I don't know what to tell you
        going by Northerner's website
        salt content
        Grov Snus 3%
        Roda Lacket 4%
        Skruf (NA)
        General 3%
        Goat Rape 3%

        Ettan 2%

One of your favorites is listed as having more salt than ones you dislike.
It might be there is salt in all of them but the flavor overcomes the salt taste.

I think JT’s words still hold true. Some have to acclimate to the salt, others to the feel, others to the cut. Having been at it for 6 months it may be that you have just deferred your adjustment period.

I would take one of the salty brands you already have, use it for the day or for half the day, then go back and use one of the low salt brands for the same amount of time. Keep doing this until both tins are gone. This might help you ease into the adjustment. The point is to spend as much extended time as you can tolerate with one of the salty brands (maybe even work through a whole can before you go back to one of the old familiars).

The good news is- you WILL adjust and in two weeks or so this will not be an issue.

In the meantime, as far as low salt brands go: All of the Phantoms are low salt as are both the Odens (regular strength- fro Northerner). I second Ettan and would also include both Gotlands

As an aside: to me, Phantom Blue belongs in the same taste category as Gote Rape. So you might find it a suitable sub.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

There is salt in ALL snus.

It is an essential ingredient. Some times what folks deal with is the salt-taste combo. Some of these combos just hit folks differently. Other times its just the salt. But you will adjust- I promise.

We havent lost one yet to salt

I completely misread JT's post that I quoted above, and merely said the exact same thing he did.

Sorry bout that JT. It's early here, it takes me a little while to shake the cob webs, and I ain’t all that bright to start with.

I started on General Portions, so it felt right to start with General Los. I didn't notice any more salt than normal. I think it just takes time to accumulate to the salt.

give ettan a try. its kind of similar to RL los, both in cut and mild taste.

I don't remember Phantom Blue being that salty, but someone correct me if I am wrong.

Got some in right now. The salt doesn't seem to hit until later. I get more juniper and herby goodness up front.
