    What to get in Sweden?

Hey all, been lurking here a few weeks, finally made an account. Been snusing on and off for about a year, trying to cut down on and maybe finally quit smoking.

Anyway, I'm heading over to Sweden tonight, and was wondering what, if any brands are exclusive to the other side of the Atlantic. It seems I cracked open my first can of Lucky Strike this weekend, and it *would* be my go-to, though now we can't get it over here any more :x So that is definitely on the shopping list. Other than that, I'm normally a Skruf portion and cranberry kind of guy, though there isn't a ton of Swedish snus I don't like at least occasionally.

Any other suggestions, and does anyone know how much we can bring through customs, if VAT is refunded on it, etc? I looked at the Arlanda airport duty free page, and they dont list any snus there, or what the customs laws are regarding it.

    Thanks!

Welcome to SnusOn. I would pick up some Camel White. I haven't had many other exotic flavors, but that one is a must.

pick up some swedish camel, since you cant get that here anymore either. also if you havent tried them, grov, ettan, and roda lacket are my most frequently used portions. im also pretty fond of general and retro. do you use loose at all? if not its certainly worth a try. at double the grams a can as portions, its pretty economical too.

If Luck Strike Bold is for sale there, a must. Would maybe help with the smoking thing too.

I would just get anything you "can't" get from Northerner.

And welcome to Snuson btw.

I'd say if you're from the US, get some Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta, since you can't get them shipped here. If you really like them, you could always accidentally drop them in a post box and mail them back to yourself. Of course, if customs opens it, you may need to refuse the package when you get a notice, but so it goes.

Thanks for the input- gonna pick up some camel as well.

Anyone know what the customs rules are for bringing snus back?

I don't know the exact rules, but I'd imagine bringing more than a roll may cause issues. If you buy more than that, I'd say just mail it back to yourself, 10 cans to a package. Sometimes 5 rolls might get through fine, sometimes customs will stop and demand you pay a surcharge on them.

I would stock up on all versions of Lucky and Camel if you like those and of course anything with cuban tobaccos, Montecristo & Romeo y Julieta.

I would also look for some of those undoubtedly amazing RL and General tobacco bits. Thats just me...

                    Enjoy you´r trip.

As for what to get, you seem to know already, where to get it is another story, and as you seem to be going to Stockholm I can´t help you with any places to buy. I doubt you can get Montecristo at a random store, it´s not that common as far as I know, but ask around and someone should be able to point you to a good spot.

I doubt very much the airport has anything reasonably priced.

Avoid places charging over 35 Kr for premium brand portions, gas stations and smaller stores ( unless they are shady ) are usually rip-off places and the selection sucks, ask for a discount if you buy rolls ( stock ).

Just ask around if you don´t know anyone, if all that fails, then head for a big supermarket like COOP, Willys, or maybe Ica MAXI, they usually have snus sold separately outside the main store in a minishop where you can bet on football ( soccer ) and horses aswell. But selection may differ alot.

If you have the nerve, walk into a tobaccostore anywhere and ask for a place that sells cheap snus, he might wanna make you an offer 8)

For reference I buy Lucky strike for 30 kr here, 275 for a stock, but I wouldn´t expect that price randomly so if u get it for 35 take it.

When u pass stores look for signs that say " BILLIGT SNUS " cheap snus, then evaluate if it really is If it looks and feels like a shady place dont be afraid to ask for discount if u buy a lot.

Oh well ignore all my ranting, just get the snus but the airport is a bad idea, trust me

                    Have a nice flight.

@chossy: I can see myself stumbling around Stockholm trying to find snus. Knowing me, I'd ignore the fact that almost everyone there seems to speak English better than Americans, and try to get by on the meager Swedish I could stumble through. Then I'd probably just give up and ask for a roll.

                        exactly
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

You know meager swedish? Thats great. I rarely speak "real" swedish myself, only with out of towners who don´t understand our lovely southern dialect :P

Just to stress one point, if you buy rolls "stock", always get discount "rabatt" in swedish, 10% is decent.

Just don´t go to the suburbs for snus unless you have someone you know there, it´s not worth it even if you could save 10$ or so on the deals.

P.S Get pictures for everyone, they nag about fridge pics all the time.

My family went to eastern europe a couple of weeks ago on different flights and my wife purchased a can of General Sterk at the Stockholm airport for I think around 9 dollars. I connected in Copenhagen but there was no Snus there.

Not sure what a can would cost outside the airport with the exchange rate?

FYI and you ever have time, train to Sweden is like 15 minutes, goes straight from the Copenhagen airport.

I am starting to plan a possible trip to Amsterdam, but looking at flying into Copenhagen just to get some snus, then a train to Amsterdam or possible, Berlin first, then Amsterdam.
