    The Two Types

I see alot of you identify several different tastes in snus and group thetogether accordingly. This is pretty cool since I only use Ettan and have problems with the taste of other brands.

I group them in these general groups:
    1, Ettan, Grov and more
2, General, Göteborgs Rapé and more

    Would you agree?

    I usually use three groups:
    1. pure old school: ettan grov and others like it.

    2. the general type with light seasoning, general, skruf and alike.

    3. perfumed and strong tastes, göteborg, mocca, probe

    I usually use group 1 and 2, usually 1.
I can't stand 3, snus should taste like tobacco. IMO

That makes sense to me, I identify snus into two groups - straightforward tobacco and tobacco with flavors.

I know it's not really accurate, they are almost all flavored with something, but some seem more true to their tobacco origins somehow.

I *think* I like the straightforward tobacco variety, they seem more honest to me and I'm here for the tobacco first and foremost, but with my last order I discovered that I like General Onyx. So far, though, my favorite is Ettan.

I use portions, loose snusers are probably more tuned in to the flavors than I am.

I like some from both camps. I prefer Grov over Ettan and quite like Göteborgs Rapé, but am not a fan of most other flavoured snus (mocca, catch, offroad, blech!). General is all around ok, as is Skruf Stark, N&J. Maybe i'm a bit weird in the head, though

I haven't tried Ettan or Grov, but they will be on my next order.

I definitely like the prominant taste of tabacco, and for me so far that has been : Diplomat, Knox, Nick & Johnny & Onyx.

The fruitier stuff has been hit or miss. Although my first portion on the way to work the last few days has been a Roda Lacket accompanied by a Dr. Pepper (thanks for the tip SnusOn!)

It sounds to me like there are 3 types as Stargazer said :

          1. Pure Tobacco
          2. Lightly Flavored Tobacco
          3. And Full Flavored (minimal tobacco taste)

But I think, as Zero stated, I will always mix it up.

I use the same system as Stargazer, though I favor 2 and 3. Tbh I'm not sure I've had any that I would consider pure tobacco, most taste like they're flavored with something.

I like the flavored varieties that have a more herbal character, as opposed to fruity, or weirdness. I would consider the Offroad limited set in the weirdness category. I kind of like them, but only in very limited quantities. The Offroad in particular starts off too strongly flavored, and ends up too weak. That's why I like the Catch Eucalyptus, LD Salmiak(kind of strong flavor, but I love licorice ), and LD Juniper . I don't find them overpowering, but the flavor really seems to last.

I like the whole spectrum really. Of course there's flavored ones I don't like too much but for the most part, I don't see why folks find it a big deal if it doesn't taste like tobacco. If it's a pleasing taste, why not enjoy it?
Mocca Pomegranate is ****ing awesome. unless you hate pomegranate. Then you're a FREAK.

I can understand if it's weird or nauseating. Roots lime and licorice would certainly fit that bill. yikes that stuff was a bit much. most of the dip flavors also come to mind...but that's dip and dip sucks ass anyway. No, that's not a subjective observation.
