This was statement weekend for my ex-wife. Was gonna try and do all 11 hours yesterday, but decided to split it. So yeah, 5 hours of work doing that. Plus I had to go into my main job as I had left my work phone there all weekend. Ended up signing two folks up for classes today, so my boss loves me for doing work even on labor day.

Now just waiting for the freaking rain to stop, or at least let up na bit, so I can go home.

the wife's been demanding more of my time. something about snuson takes up too much of my day. i'm still reading it all, just not posting (she complains less when she can't hear me typing in the other room). :?

LOL, before my ex finally got into her own stuff around 99, she was always bitching when I was posting. Never heard a word if I was reading, but as soon as I started to type, then she let me have it.

Finally found her an e-mail list that she got into, all complaining stopped forever after.

Been out of town since Wednesday. Checked in briefly last night but no real time to post. Back now. Will resume regular raucous tomorrow.
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

I just type on the iPhone with the sound off and keep a look of concentration on my face. Looks as tho I'm working hard when in fact I'm just trying to understand pp's posts.

No one cares tonight as I spent the day fishing and no one wants to be near me. Between thunder frost and toque coke, I don't smell a thing. Maybe i should add that as a plus in a review.

I was a warez courier on usenet between late 96 and end of 99. Would spend hours online in a warez usenet community, well not really like here, accept we collected about 40 really cool people who worked hard to keep things somewhat policed. She NEVER understood why I was on so much, and especially why I posted so much. Add to that the flame wars, and the fact when I was in the middle of ripping someone,. I would almost pound on the keyboard, I kinda understood.

But in early 99, I found an e-mail list for fans of Gwendal Peizerat who my wife had a huge crush on. So she started reading and participating, and then in mid 99, I bought her tickets to go to Paris so she could attend Trophee Lalique and see him compete in person. She told her list about it, and like 8 women from Europe decided to join her. From there, I could never get her off the computer as she was doing all this planning

But she never again even mentioned my computer use, and was rather supportive when I told her I wanted to build me a much better computer. So two wins in one for me.

(She stayed on that list until they won the Olympics and retired a few years later. In 2000, I sent her back to Paris and her online friends all went again too. But I flew out too a week later and met her the day of the exhibition. So she had her alone time with friends but I met all of them that last day as well)

Sage, I'm right there with you. I was big on BBS stuff from 94 until the Internet started getting big, and at that point I was on Usenet all night long. Then came EverQuest, and the fit really hit the shan.

So I got my SO into EQ so she'd leave me alone...she pulled some all nighters that left me envious.

A fellow BBSer!!! So few of us left my old friend.

But yeah, the trick works. Just keep working to find something that grabs your significant other. Life just so much easier when they share a bit of your obsession.
