too bad SM tests for drugs..............
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

MY bet PP is process would take long enough, quit today, you should be clean.

Myth that it takes 30 days for user to get clean, even heavy user of pot, is just that, a myth. Based on some VERY badly studies done 30 years ago. Modern studies show that just about everyone is clean within 7 -10 days max. Usually even shorter

yep thats the myth...7-10 days sounds about right depending on the user. although..there is detox, fake urine and niacin pills that work in a day or in some cases you can even use real urine...(my roomate is a heavy user)

agreed. drinking isnt involved you take someone that is clean and have them urinate in a pill bottle then tie it to your genitals..simple and not costly. believe me it's a long story how this all worked and im not gonna go through it.

I have beaten tests using substitution before. Really easy if you are a bit sociopathic like myself.

Unfortunately, North Carolina is one of just a few states that has made trying to beat a test illegal as such. NOT a charge I ever want on my record. This past few years, just way easier to lay off a bit when I am looking for work. Plus motivates me far more than anything to get off my a** and find something

Not at all true in MY experience, not trying to say you're wrong. I've had 2 DUI's in my past and went throught drug/alcohol classes/counceling for 16 weeks the first time (oregon) and 2 years the 2nd time (washington - both were considered 1st offences) for the purpose of keeping my record clean. Was required to submit weekly UA's. The first time I was stubborn, I was also 19, and didn't quit smoking after it all started. Once I did, it took 45 days for my tests to come completely clean. You can imagine what I spent most of my time doing in Eugene, OR. God I was dumb. 2nd time, I quit smoking right away, and the myth proved true. Took about a month. Daily users, 30 days. Weekend users, 5-7 days. Occasional joint, 3-5 days. That's what I remember researching, although its been too long since I cared.

Roo, the 30 day number came form research that was so badly done, it has long ago been laughed out of the trade journals. People that were followed were not kept confined, no control over what they were doing. There was some extensive research done a few years ago by the main National Drug Court organization that I couldn't find today, but literally destroys all the early study that came up with that number.

But very possible, in your situation, the cutoff level as intentionally set low. Typically, for court related testing cut-off of 20 ng/ml is used. But this is MUCH lower than testing done by companies. The standard, approved by the government for these purposes is 50 ng/ml.

OK, So I just found the original study I read a number f years ago. And understand, this is put out by National Drug Court Institute. Maybe the only folks who don't seek to politicize the science. The reasons this topic is so critical to them as it affects everything Drug Courts do, and their ability to cut through the BS of people going through Drug Courts. If people believe the myth of 30 days, they won''t understand when the recent use really was....

Back in the 60's a friend of mine took a bottle of his girlfriend's urine in for a draft physical. They rejected him for being pregnant

                              Damn, that sucks.

Years ago, my stupid company instituted a random testing process that I fought tooth and nail. I didn't need no random testing to spot a problem with an employee, just judge them on their actions. They didn't come to work on time, had problems at work, than just deal with those issues. but if person had NO issues at work, what does it matter.

I almost quit over it, then just said screw it. I was such a valued employee, I almost looked forward to the conversation that we would have if I ever failed the test. But in over a year, was never tested. Almost began to think it was all smoke and mirrors, until my best friend in HR let slip that she had seen the CEO was called in to take the test.

Today, I would never work for a company that did random. But I have no issues with pre-employment. If I can't give it a rest for a few months while looking for work, then maybe I have a real problem I should deal with.
