    Phantom Blue Lös review

A new review from my blog...thanks for your suggestions guys, i love it!

    ------

Phantom Blue Lös. 10 Sep 09.

As I've been getting more into lös, my new ritual at night is to have a nice pris of lössnus right before I go to bed. It's a great way to unwind from a long day, and a great last snus before crashing. Tonight, I was going through a recent order, and saw Phantom Blue lös. I ordered it by suggestion only, as you know from my reviews - I'm not a big fan of Phantom Blue (portion) or the new BuySnus exclusive Thunder Blue. But this snus is different. And I'll tell you why.

As I said, after the last few of my reviews, you're probably starting to think that I don't like Phantom Blue. Well, until today I haven't. I didn't like Phantom Blue portions. I didn't like Thunder Blue because it reminded me too much of Phantom Blue. So I was rather hesitant to order Phantom Blue lös, but I heard good things about it, so I thought I would give it a chance.

Phantom Blue lös is a course ground snus, and as I opened the can and formed my first pris, I noticed how easy it is to form. It held together in my mouth quite well, and came out in one piece. Neat, no mess. Great form. But I don't want to get ahead of myself.

I held the can in my hand. I stared at it. I prepared myself. Okay. 1. 2. 3. I opened the can. Wait...wait, what? No Windex smell? I closed the lid and looked at the can again to make sure I was holding the right can. Yep. Phantom Blue lös. This is it. So I opened it back up and took a big smell again. Wow, this actually smells good! A light smell of juniper berry, a slight flowery aroma. The best way I can describe the aroma of this is "gentle". It has a very sweet smell. I popped in my new best friend, Mr. Icetool, and made a perfectly formed pris, and inserted under my lip.

Okay, V2. You have redeemed yourself.

From start to finish, this is a great snus. What's very interesting about this is that the aroma is that of juniper, but the flavor is something completely different and unexpected. It has a very mild, sweet lemon taste. Sweet...lemon...oxymoron? I don't know how they did it. But I'm not complaining, it's a beautiful thing. The tobacco flavor is quite mild, and married very well to the sweet lemon taste, with a mild hint of salt. From the beginning to the end, the flavor of this snus matures and gets better with each passing moment. The longer you have it in, you'll notice subtle hints of juniper coming into play, but they are very mild, and in the background. They mix quite well with the lemon taste.

So I may not like Phantom Blue (portion). And I may not dig Thunder Blue because it tastes like Phantom Blue and has that all too familiar Windex smell of Phantom Blue (portion). But this product, Phantom Blue lös is great in my book, and I plan on ordering more. For those new to lös, this is a great first product. Easy to pack, holds together well, and has a great flavor. A great addition to anyones regular lös line-up.

Good review Chad, and it reflects my experience also. I don't like it quite as well as you seem to, but this is the product that redeemed V2 for me also. They're lös snus is completely different from the portions, and one shouldn't judge one based on the other.

My favorite of the Phantom line is the brown lös. It isn't in my top 5 snuses, but it's almost there. It has a flavor similar to Göteborg Rapé, but much reduced, which I find more agreeable to my tastes. It's like a combination of a mellow Grov, and Göteborgs, and it makes a nice coffee snus.

I also picked up Prima Fint, which I'm going to try tommorow night. I've heard good things about it.

Nice review chad. I never got the windex from the los (must be a portion exclusive). I think all the Phantom los offerings are solid and worth a try.

On the other hand, you know as much about the taste of Prima now as you will at the end of the can. Here is my review of the flavor: First,

          and

          Also,

          Finally,

          Hope this helps.

Your review seems spot on. I'm just venturing into los; I've only tried 3 (pending the arrival of more). I really dig the Phantom Blue, though I haven't tried the portions. I also really like Ettan los. I find it interesting how los seems to have a different flavor than portions.

I think I will order some V2 products on my next order. Portion and los. I hear raves for the los and damnation's for the portions.

Phantom Blue is the greatest thing since sliced bread!

I have yet to try Thunder blue due to financial difficulties, but I still have a ton of blue los in my fridge. It is fuel for my daily life!

phantom blue is good, it's got the citrus tang and doesn't mudslide. 'tis a fine los snus, like a delicious gummy bear!

I've had maybe 10 or so los varieties, so I'm far from a los guru. That said, I would probably put phantom blue los at the number 2 spot slightly below gotlands yellow. If nothing else it's one of the most distinct snus' out there and it definitely has good form and is one of the easiest to hand bake. I really need to give the portions another shot, my first two orders ever each included a roll of them; while I didn't have much of a basis to compare them to at the time, I remember enjoying them until completion.
