Northerner running slow?

Thought I would repost this here. Don't know about prices, but another option???

I'm in the uk and got my first order of snus on thursday this week. Order shipped on monday so took 4 days. On phantom brown white portion got 5 cans with taxes and post cost 21 euros and a few pence. Really enjoying it so far. Ordered from snus express and am so far happy with the service and will be ordering again soon. Trying to make a can last 3 days. 8 a day and so far so good.

My last order was shipped on the 31st and arrived on the 8th. Not too bad the first order took 11 days and the others were around 7-9 days.

Had to put in an emergency order today - this time it's with FedEx and delivered to my work address - there's still no sign of my last order and it's now 13 days.

There's a small possibility that it could be down to the postal service in this country but hopefully I'll soon find out and keep you informed. Knowledge is power and all that.

I am actually starting to wonder . Reading all of this along with the fact that when I ordered mine , I got a email 30 seconds after placing it , saying it shipped ..... Are they really shipping everyone out when they say they do ? It seems to easy to blame everything on the post office . I mean , unless a package gets held up in customs or there is a holiday . If an order takes 7 business days to get to you , plus or minus a day should really be the only acceptable variance . Even though there are exceptions , from what I have read , this seems to be all to common with Northerner . Sounds like it may be poor business practice is the problem . Not much we can do really . A forum wide protest would really have no affect on them .

I'm on my 12th day (7th business day) waiting. I was trying not to think about it, but I was sure it would be here today. I have plenty of snus, but I ordered some stronger minis for work I wanted to try and my first lös. I'm bummed.

Actually, Frank from Northerner reads Snuson all the time and responds to any issues.

But this is NOT a Northerner issue. They always ship right away. this is a combination of Swiss Post, who seems to be twice as slow as Swedish post, and US customs that seems to sometimes hold up packages for a week.

But blaming Northerner is wrong. Other than their choice to use Swedish Post to save money, but Northerner has returned that to customers via lower prices for snus compared to Buysnus. But you think Northerner is too slow, use Buysnus, pay more for your snus but get a better shipping company. but you can't have both.

FWIW, my last order took 12 days, and I am on the east coast.

Buysnus does seem to beat Northerner these days, by maybe 3 -4 days??

Soon, you will build up a supply and this won't be an issue. but right now, I do understand how frustrating it is.

I will make a promise. the moment you get that package, you will forget all about this. :wink:


Just know that I am aggressive in defending ALL the snus suppliers. I have been doing this for 2 1/2 years, have used everyone. They each and every one of them have always done what they said they would, and fixed the few issues that came up better than I could have even expected. They are good companies. I understand frustrations, but want to see them channeled properly. If I came off a bit stern, just understand where that comes from. I am just so grateful to have all of them supplying me with my beloved snus.

The biggest problem is people wait too long to order.

If you've cutdown or quit smoking, use some of the money you've saved to buy a roll of snus. If money is tight buy some lös, it will last you longer. Start building an inventory. Life is so much less stressful when you don't wait until you are almost out of snus before reordering.

plus, on many websites, the more you order the cheaper it is. so in the long run, ordering in bulk will save you money, as well as ordering in advance will save you on shipping. instead of 3 or 4 orders over a few months, you could save money by doing 1 order and avoiding all the shipping charges on a lot of orders.

oh dear - buysnus is quite a bit more expensive.
I'm going to have to pay for a next day delivery from Northerner.

I havent done a direct price comparison but once the taxes get added at the northener I think they work out about the same as buysnus. I mostly have used Northener and mostly found them to be reliable, delivery taking 7 days by swiss post. Buysnus is a bit quicker. 13 days seems too long, I would contact them about it.

I may try a test order at snusfromsweden they seem to have good prices, but limited selection and ship by Swedish post. eg general los $5.81 portion $4.19

It costs me £70/$116 for a months supply of Snus which is enough money to spend. I've also said that I don't have the storage space for more.

I also place an order when I get down to one roll - that's about 17 days of snus - so if a company or a postal service cannot get you an order delivered in 17 days it's pitiful and I've got to say that our postal service is rubbish, so it could be that.

Ant - Buysnus works out more expensive to the UK but do let me know how you get on with that test order.

GetSnus
The Good - Prices. Most affordable, value priced snus on the web. VERY Fast shipping.
The Bad - Very limited selection. No nasal snuff.

BuySnus
The Good - Very large selection. Fast shipping.
The Bad - Prices not as good as GetSnus No nasal snuff.

Northerner
The Good - Well rounded snus site. A little bit of everything, including Nasal Snuff. Easy to put in a complete order in one store.
The Bad - Prices and shipping. Prices are higher than the other two, and shipping is quite slow. Also, alot of products are often out of stock, which creates a longer wait for an order.

And I have been using northerner for 2 1/2 years, NEVER has anything been out of stock. I have had that with Buysnus and My Thunder, never northerner. Where are you pulling this from????

For the items I purchase, my information is correct. GetSnus is usually cheaper, BuySnus next, then Northerner.

Results may vary. But for me, this is so.
