How about ship times for recent BuySnus.com orders? I placed my order on 9/6/09.

Buysnus I've usually seen 7-9 days. Same as Northerner USED to be. I'm on day 11 of waiting for a shipment from Northerner right now.

Ok, cool. I am trying to get by with Camel crap and had to buy some Grizzly yesterday and am almost finished with it. I was hoping I would have gotten it today.

That doesn't work if they don't carry any of your regulars.

I feel like I lucked out ... out of the 3 cigar shops here in Santa Fe one of
them actually stocks General. (the other two never even heard of snus)
Stopped in expecting a layer of dust and not only were they fresh,
they had them in a little General display refrigerator!

Felt so lucky I considered buying a lotto ticket but figured why push it.

My first shipment from Northerner got smashed using Swiss Post. The replacement was shipped on August 31st and still is not here. That is Sweden to Germany. They are going to have to wake up. It will destroy their business.

It's 12 days now and it just ain't good enough. It's only coming from Sweden - not the friggin US. Sweden is like just up a little bit from England so this is ridiculous really. I understand that the postal service is out of Northerners hands but there seems to be a few of us here with the same problem - I'd like to say that they'd lose business over something like this but they won't. Northerner are the only company that will deliver in the UK and EU taxes can be paid on their website therefore giving customs no excuse to hold your package. Swiss Post must be Shhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiite!

I don't like using the UPS option as if I'm not in when it is delivered, I don't get whereas with Swiss Post I can go and collect it from the post office depot just around the corner. I think I might have to put up with that in future if I can track the parcel.

Have you tried Buysnus? How big a hassle is it if you get nailed by customs?

I'm thinking about it. The money that I'd save on tax is quite substantial so in the unlikely event of my package ever actually getting stopped the payment of tax wouldn't hit hard I don't think. Customs are quite understaffed so can't stop every package or anywhere near it.

The only difficult part would be collecting it if it did get stopped. I'm extremely busy and if the package comes in to London Heathrow and is held at customs house there it's actually quite difficult to get to even though I live in London so that could be a right pain in the ass.

Also - things can take quite a long time getting from the US to here. I remember accidentally ordering something from www.amazon.com instead of www.amazon.co.uk. The package took about 3 months.

Hmm... I think you're confused. Buysnus is from Sweden. I believe you're thinking of Getsnus which is from the USA. I don't know how Buysnus handles taxes and whatnot for the EU, but I know other people over there order from them.

Ahhh yes I was confused. It can be quite difficult to find out where a company is actually based sometimes.

Many thanks. I will definately check them out.

A little OT, but there's a Firefox extension Flagfox, that puts the server locations country flag in your address bar. It's not really that useful, and server location doesn't always mean company location, but it's a low resource amusement, and I like seeing the different world flags :^)

oh dear - buysnus is quite a bit more expensive.
I'm going to have to pay for a next day delivery from Northerner.

Ah, bummer. I'm sorry it wasn't good for you. Northerner and Buysnus are the only European companies I'm familiar with. There's some other ones, but I haven't dealt with them before, and I think they're more expensive than the 2 I mentioned.
