AB = Aktiebolag = joint-stock company, (corporation US)

Sometimes the AB is part of the name too. Saab, is an acronym for Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget (Swedish Airplane Corporation). Before they changed their name there was also a security firm called Abab, not to be confused with Abba, a fish cannery company--and a pop group.
