Need a little help here

k kids, i have a friend who has a dad that is literally killing himself with cigarettes. a 2+ pack a day smoker, and as hard headed as hell. to make a long story short, he's gonna try this snus. soo... what snus first? i shot 'em an odens es portion, we gotta keep him to portions. he's a heavy smoker, i'm thinking es here. give 'em a kick of vitamin nic, i have told him the rest is in the head. what would be a good one? for someone that knows nothing about this stuff.

throw him some thunder frosted, or skruf stark. also, offroad cranberry strong is good.

Can´t help you with a brand, but yeah, strong portions, nothing too flavory would probably be the best way to go for starters.

Salt and initial discomfort probably scares away many from giving it a honest chance so hope for the best, middle upperlip and no chewing it, for taste only touch with tongue, would be my initial advice.

Make sure he doesnt spit it out after 2 minutes either, and that he understands that its a slower nicotine delivery at first.

Second, give him a variety (maybe 3 cans or a part of 3 cans that represent a range in flavor) and give him what you like. Your passion and excitement will go along way in getting him excited.

If he's a menthol guy, Thunder Frosted def. Ettan is a good choice to, as the salt content isn't too high.

I don't know that strong is necessary. I'd pick out a selection of stuff that tastes good, and let him go through those. My top 5 favorites when I was brand new were...

I have found many smokers just "want to smoke", and a wet bag in the mouth does not satisfy that want "to smoke". But I do think if one really want's to quit smoking, and are open to really try alternatives to quit, then they will try it. Also some people have quit with nasal snuff. I have a buddy, he came over last night, but I only ever got him to try snus 1 time, it was Ettan, maybe he would have taken to Thunder Frosted more, I don't know, but I didn't have that, but after that 1 time, he just is not interested in snus. he did snuff a few of my variety last night, but I offered him some to take home, but he didn't.
