I think my first experience into the online world was the old Prince of Persia in DOS, and MUD's.

There really is a huge distinction between Pre Camel snus users, and those that came after.

I even wrote a post on SMPOST after trying the Camel as it was released, wondering what it would be like for folks coming to snus through Camel. It was just so sweet, I worried in my post that folks would hate the Swedish.

Snus was easy for me. First one I ever had was Ettan. I had no preconceived notions about what it was supposed to taste like. I didn't hate it. the rest is history

I was right, it was an issue. But we have learned how to guide them through the transition, maybe a big reason why I have always been so quick to help newbies, why I have my transition routine down so well. Was just something I was aware of from day one.

But nice being reminded who here is pre Camel.

Reading this thread makes me wonder, why isn't there a Sticky'd "Your Snus Story" thread? I thought it'd be interesting, I'm suprised we don't have one.

That's a good idea, but when new peeps join, they get to hear our stories directed to them, more personal and inspirational. I know the responses I got when I first started, helped me immensely. But it would be nice to have them all in one thread as well.

The worst thing about SMPOST is the average age is 15, and hot topics are how to hide your spit can from your mom, and how to hide your dip cans in your bookbag, and how to dip in class.

lol. I must admit that I do frequent that board for the comedic value. I used to be a dipper and a few minutes on that board remind me that I have no intention of ever going back.

This is a fantastic idea and I'd shamelessly take it but you're one of the badasses around here so I don't want to ruffle any feathers...or maybe 'steal anyones Ettan' would be more apt. I bet you'd get pages of posts though. Definitely one from me

Camel's website a couple of years ago. Ironically, I could not try theirs due to the limited test markets, so I looked around and found SnusOn and Buysnus. Nuff said. :wink:

A friend gave me about half a can of General portions. Never looked back.

Im one of the ones that never even heard of snus before Camel SNUS. Fortunately, I found this forum right after buying my first can, so learned of the Swede real quick, ordered some that day, and only had to suffer through the crappy Camel for one can, though I do still have half of that one can left, and use one once in a while when my sweet tooth kicks in. 8) Best thing is, after a couple days of the Swedish, I quit smoking without really even trying.


On a side note, I just looked at that SMPOST you guys were talking about.....geeesh. How could you stand that forum any longer than 5 minutes? Seems like nothing but a bunch of kids. Most posts are all about how to purchase dip underage, hiding it from parents, etc etc....rediculous. :roll:

Until I knew about Snuson, was the only place I could fin to get any info about Snus. There was a predecessor forum you can still find that is all locked down, started by Buysnus 3 -4 years ago, andt hen abandoned.

But yeah, SMPOST really sucks. Probably explains why I fell in love so hard with Snuson.
