Gotland Green is a pretty hard one to pin down. I think it's one of those flavors that hit different people very differently. Personally, the description of 'lush green plants' was almost spot on. But not in a chewing on grass sense, more like a fresh crisp salad. Not in flavoring mind you, but the difference is the point there. I got no apple taste at all when I tried it. Was more fresh jungle garden thingy-kinda-ma-jiggy.

I can understand the references to apples a bit, but when I gave one to my new Swedish colleague (a dedicated General/GR can a day man) without telling him what it was he went "Tastes like fläder "

Elderflower drinks are pretty common here so perhaps that is why it is easier to associate it with elderflower rather than apples.

Also, I don't get the description of Gotlands Gul as an "unflavoured" snus. IMO it is has a very distinct citrus/bergamot taste that really sets it apart from the crowd - and one of the reasons I love it so much.

Yea, I'd say it's one of the boldest flavored snuses outside of the mints, and other strongly flavored snuses.

i was planning on getting the gul los and the flader portions, but i suppose i may get some gul portions too. still seeking out a snus or two or more that could be my main squeeze, and that i can actually order in america. lucky strikes would be my only roll worthy choice so far. im impatiently trying to wait until the release of 01 to make my next order, and seeing as though i wont need to make my order until a few weeks from now, it works out great, but ive already got my cart set up and it is burning a hole in my pocket. i think thatll be my last order until kardus comes out.

Pick up a can of either LD regular or LD white, depending on which way you swing

I second that. I'd throw in a tin each of the cheapies to give them a try. It might not cost that much more, especially if you're ordering from Buysnus. I think these are all worth trying, and the prices are pretty good...

so far this is my cart.

                northerner energy
                gotland green
                gotland gul los
                phantom brown los
                ld original
                gustavus original
                probe whisky portion
                roda lacket white
                and soon to be 01
as well as a toque whisky and honey bullet

i may throw some more in as i think ill have a smaller stock than anticipated by then. im not sure about knox. i dont really like skruf. i just sold all my skrufs to a kid at work who dips. i may revisit someday, but i got a lot of nicotine down feelings from skruf. made me groggy and just shitty feeling overall. taste was meh.

                my apologies for thread jacking.

also, im going with northerner for now, buysnus is a bit more expensive right now, and i want to try the northerner energy, and i can get a single snuff all in one fell swoop at northerner.

If you don't like Skruf stay away from Knox. I actually don't like it much myself :^D It is a quality snus though, and people that like Skruf should love it. The only Skruf product I like is the stark lös. It's very rich, and I like it as a dessert snus. I couldn't use it all day though.

Still not liking this Gots Green...maybe the unopened can make it's way into the box pass since I seem to be one of the few that doesn't like it

Got Green tastes to me like... green. Hard to explain, as others have said. A bit of apple, some green veggies, some freshly mowed lawn (in a good way). Just green.

That said it's one of my favorites. In fact, all of Gotland snus's are solid. I love Jak Classic and Icefruit (I have one in now). Got Green is one of the few I buy in rolls (variety is the spice of life).

To me it is apple with battery acid. I plan to try some of the los but the portions are friggin harsh. Not really enjoyable to me, Ive only tried the green and anis.

I immediatley thought crab apple with the first portion. That may be a regional thing in this area(not sure). Tiny little somewhat bitter apples that are common here. Aquired a taste for them from grandmas front yard tree.

Crab apples are great. Persimmon and Paw Paw also make tasty hillbilly treats. You have to get the Persimmon just right though. They go from bitter and astringent to rotten in the blink of an eye.

Flader wasn't bad.. it does have quite a distinct flavor to it. i also got the apple flavor with a mix of herbal notes (i guess thats the tobacco). but the bitterness was really strong and couldnt hold it down. i will give it a try today to see if i can get through a portion or not.. it's pretty bold.

I also thought of crab apples when I tried Flader for the first time. However as I kept using it I would only taste the apple for the first couple minutes of each portion, after which I would taste predominantly herbal notes and a kind of bitterness that didn't agree with me.

IMO Gulsnus is the real gem of the Gotlandssnus line. They really nailed the citrus flavor opting for more of an orange or lemon flavor rather than bergamot like chad mentioned. Don't get me wrong, I like bergamot as much as the next guy but its kind of an unoriginal flavor with snus. Jak Classic is similar but in my experience it can turn on you after about 30 minutes. Gulsnus never did me wrong.
