No...quit that some time ago. It wasn't giving me the nicotine I needed, so I have switched to snus and snuff. Now I am just fine, nic wise.

I heard rumors that someone else also tried smoking a pipe too??
Welcome to Snuson olderthandirt. I am glad you found snus and it is working well for you. My best advice is just keep trying new snus. And most important, keep an open mind. Your tastes will range all over the map your first year at least. So any snus you don't like at first, never ever throw away. Just put it aside, try it in a month. Still don't like, put it aside for three months and try still again. This place is filled with hundreds of stories of folks who hated a particular snus at first, only to fine later that it becomes a favorite.
Other than that, glad you finally joined us, ask any questions that come up.
btw, Whiskey and Honey was my first snuff 11 months ago, and still my favorite. What I am using today in fact.

The welcome is appreciated Sage, good morning.
I've read several of the posts regarding holding on to a snus and finding that it's enjoyable later on. I'll most certainly keep that in mind but I can't imagine I'll ever enjoy the Claq Qui! Funny, it gets raves everywhere, but that one absolutely did not agree with me ! LOL

I wanted to wait until I hit 6 months off the cigs before I wrote this. Well, that date has come and gone, and after seeing some buddies from ECF show up I guess its time.
Started smoking when I was 14. Was thoroughly addicted by 16, and that was nearly 40 years ago. I did manage to quit for 3 months about 30 years ago and that was perhaps the worst 3 months of my life. No focus, no ambition (and I didn’t have much to spare to begin with), spaced out. Needless to say I started again. A good friend who is a non-smoker had supported me in my effort to get off the butts… mentioned that it was probably a good choice to start again. Lesson learned. I never thought about quitting again.
I heard a local talk show host talking about electronic cigarettes in March, did a bit of research and tried them. Never was able to quit smoking, but I did some research into reduced harm and that weird word snus kept popping up like a whack-a-mole. Picked up some camel snus and didn’t think it was to bad, though I still couldn’t quit the butts. Ordered some Swedish snus, got it on a Saturday, and the following Monday was my last cigarette. I took to snus very well.
It wasn’t all smooth as there were times when I missed the cigarettes. What I missed was the quick hit, that jolt of nicotine that hits in seconds. It took a bit of time to get adjusted to the slow uptake of snus. As months go by I think about cigs less and less.
I’m a snus lifer. I like everything about it. No more standing out in the cold, or rain, or heat (isn’t WI wonderful). The only place I haven’t done it is the Dentist. I’ve really learned to love the slow steady nicotine dose from snus. What more could a nicotine fiend ask for.

Keep a full upper lip, even if you don't have any teeth left.
Gonna be hard keeping that upper lip full in about 2 weeks. Going to full upper dentures, probably have the 11 remaining upper teeth pulled around Christmas.
Ho freaking Ho
But that's the nice thing about having a varied arsenal to stay off the smokes. However long it takes for the healing and newness of the denture thing, I've still got the vape to tide me over!

Last Feb. I was taking my mother home after a visit and when I stopped for gas I saw a sign that said 'Snus, Sold Cold'. Honestly I thought it said, Sinus cold relief sold. LOL. So when I got home I stopped at a gas station where I saw the same sign and asked for some. The lady told me it was free and gave me a can of Camel Snus Frost.
I came home and got online and researched what the hell I just got. Found out what snus was and tried out the CSF. I liked it.
I also found out that what I got wasn't 'true' snus and that is how I found the Northerner. Since I was 'hiding' my new found habit from the hubster I couldn't order online. I just kept getting the CSF. My tobacconist only carried the American Camel flavors but he was very generous and gave me free CSF for 3 months. I quickly got up to a tin a day. After his free supply was gone I started buying them and realized I got into a 3-5 dollar a day habit when I had not smoked or chewed prior. Not to mention I was constantly fussing at my husband to quit smoking. I am such a hypocrite :P
Well in July I told him about Snusing and he tried one CSF, he hated it. Now he was fussing at me to stop. Of course I wear the pants in our family and I kept on snus'n.
My mom came to visit at Thanksgiving and loaned me her debit card so I went to Northerner and ordered some Thunder Frosted and Catch Eucalyptus. That was the end of CSF for me.
Now I am enjoying trying out all the flavors and brands. I am not sure I will ever have one single flavor or brand that I use everyday. I have so many favorites now it is too hard!
