    Question about drip

I had some Camel snus left over so I started using them with my General ES and regular portions to add flavor. I hate to admit it but I like the flavor of Camels and the portion design but not the low nic hit. My question is why do I not have the drip with the Generals used with the Camels that I do when I just use the Generals by themselves?

Once I use the Camels up, I am going to use Discreet for my flavor enhancements for the Swedish snus unflavored. Just was curious as to why the drip level is different.

Looking forward to trying the 02 from Swedish Match for the portion design.

I just don't get this "drip" thing I read about. The mental image I get, is literal drips from the snus. Now when I 1st started snus, I did get a lot of juice accumulation, but that stopped when I placed the portion more in front, and time of using. I just don't get any "drip" with any snus.

About Camel snus, PMD, I think, or it was for me, is Swedish snus is an aquired taste, and once aquired, it's preferred. I started with Camel and then went to flavored, and I liked the sweet flavor, but now, I can't stand it.

It's not the sweet taste so much as I have always like flavored dip better than straight tobacco so I don't think that will change in the Snus world but could be wrong. Wintergreen was probably my favorite followed by apple.

You would like wintergreen snus then, I'd think. There are a few brands that make it. Thunder high-nic, General, Offroad. Offroad has an Apple snus too. Cranberry is decent in snus too. Offroad has a high-nic Cranberry snus that has it's fans. Snus is not like dip, but there are a few more flavored and and sweet(er) varities.

        I do like General Wintergreen.

I'm all about the drip! To me drip = flavor! Except for General Maxi, that has to much drip!

As far as camel goes, who knows what kind of crap put in their snus. They use chemical sweeteners, so maybe they put some kind of dessicant in there too...

You might be interested in the Lab Series from SM when it comes out next month. It has long slender portions, and according to Mr. UNZ, it drips much less than most portions...

If I don't have a steady "drip" I don't feel like I'm snus'ing. White portions run less and some say the flavor lasts longer. Don't give up on snus just yet. What you don't like today may grow on you next week. Also like Tom recommended Thunder Frosted is flavored and contains a nicotine wallop.

You are probably wrong. Just give it time.

As many folks have discovered (Chad being the latest). Over time, I promise you will come to prefer the non flavored Swedish way. Took me 4 months before I used any non flavored snus. Went half and half another 18 months, then finally, just didn't want flavored much at all.

But do what feels right today. Just don't be suprised as your tastes change, just the way of snus.

Maybe you're right. Just going on my past preferences. I know I really like the Ettan los. As I mentioned in another thread, best non-flavored yet. Do their portions taste similar to the los? I still am kicking myself for leaving a can out of my initial order of portions.

                  PMD....

First rule of snus, dump ANY preconceived notions based upon past use of American dip. They are just not the same, don't works the same. And after 2 1/2 years of using, have seen hundreds come here and discover exactly what I am telling you.

                  So...

For the next 6 months, just keep trying everything. Even if you don't like something the first time, try it again in a month or two. Still don't like it, try it AGAIN in six months.

Will take you at least 6 months to even begin to really figure out your tastes. And at least for me, another 18 or so months after before they fully stabilize.

As for Ettan, I think the portions are better. Same taste profile, and it is maybe more mild than I like, but more flavor from the portions than the los.

But by far the biggest myth about snus, for folks that used flavored dip. That they will still prefer flavored snus, it really, really doesn't work that way in our world

too bad that post is too large to put in your signature...........
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I will do that. You weren't wrong about Elixyr so we shall see.

Of course, I can eat the same kind of sandwich for lunch every day for years. I hate lunch meat. I love me some hummus on sandwich wraps. Used to bring PB & J's or pimento cheese sandwiches every day until I started getting clogged up and feel like I needed to go to a lamaze class to take a crap in the morning. I kidded my wife that she could cut the cord. She didn't appreciate that too much.

I'm getting old because I actually love prunes, er I mean dried plums.

Man that is a whole new one to me. I have no idea. :?
