If Swedish Match is distributing, I doubt there will be extreme differences.

As long as it isn't fire cured, wouldn't be something I would really worry about.

Ok guys, just got home and was pleasantly surprised that my order from Buysnus had already arrived (2 days delivery to mainland Europe). Aside from a roll of Onyx and Thunder Frosted, it also had Chaini Khaini spices and mango (as well as 01 and 02), one can each.

Just put the Chaini Khaini Spices portion in a couple of minutes ago, so here goes.

Let me start with the can. Frankly, it sucks. No "ashtray", plastic feels cheap and the stickers they put on it are off-center and poorly put on in general. On to the vitals. Best before date is 10.07. which is fine. The ingredients, however, are more interesting. Aside from the usual, it lists E422 as an ingredient, i.e. glycerin. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is not common, is it? Not a problem, glycerin is perfectly harmless, just thought I'd point it out.

On to the snus itself. Upon opening the can, the smell is fresh, spicy and a bit minty in a slightly medicinal sense. The closest I can describe it is Tiger Balm (camphor), for those of you familiar with it. Quite pleasant.

The portions seem a tad smaller than usual, which would confirm what the can lists: net weight 21 grams and 27 portions, which would make them 0,77 grams per portion.

As for having it in my mouth, well, the taste, initially, is very similar to the stuff you get in an indian restaurant in lieu of breath mints. You know, the coloured granules with some spices, but sans aniseed. Also, there is still a cooling, minty undertone. However, as it develops, the spicy side starts to dominate and the juice develops a pretty harsh bite in the throat. Also, the camphor taste becomes much more dominant, the more subtle tastes move to the background, but are still present. (edit: There is, as far as I can tell, no tobacco taste whatsoever).

Nicotine hit: Good. Despite being a smaller white portion, it feels like it delivers nicotine very well, more so than other white portions.

Staying power: I'll let you know later on, possibly tomorrow as I might be heading out in a while. Actually, at the half-hour mark, I can now tell you that it loses taste fairly quickly and went slightly sour.

Overall first impressions: Interesting taste, slightly harsh (no pun intended). Most likely will not order another can.

Ok, got around to trying the Chaini Khaini Mango too. I'll be brief: it tastes mostly synthetic, a little like mango.

Conclusion: The spice variant has an interesting taste, but it's not my cup of tea, the mango is downright crap.

And just so you have an idea about my tastes, I currently use Thunder Frosted and General Onyx mostly. Also like Tre Ankare and Röda Lacket.

Have you tried the Offroad Mango? Just wondering if it is like that. I like the Offroad one, and have plenty so I haven't ordered this new one yet.

No, I haven't tried the Offroad Mango, so I can't compare the two unfortunately. I did however try the Offroad Clove and I prefer the Chaini Spice to that, though they're not close in taste really.

Haven't tried them yet, but did open both to take a smell just out of curiousity.

Anyone else find a similarity in smell to Vicks Vabor Rub?

                  That doesn't sound tempting.

                      You are wrong,

E422 Glycerin aka Glycerol is very common in snus. Maybe it's because you are used to using portions but it is in every single version of lös I've ever had. Glycerine is a common ingredient and is actually preferred over propylene glycol in e-cig juice

Yes indeed. Vicks is a western form of Tiger Balm.

@justin: I do indeed use portions only, so I stand corrected. You learn something new every day.

The nausea part brings to mind Discreet Peach

And the customer, Sibbe Turanli, snus user....., dude has to be "using"
more than snus. Course if he's flying as high as he looks and still doesn't
like it I would say it's hopeless.

                          Bat

I have a Mango in right now and it's nothing like the OR version. The Offroad tastes fruity and natural, this is spicy and artificial. I'll try it again in a few days, but right now the Chaini Mango is not on my list of snus to buy again. I've considered tossing the whole can. Imagine this.... Offroad is worlds better.

I ordered both the mango and the spice just to give it a shot. I made a big order and tried the spice before my usual portions.

Chai tea was the flavor to me. I liked it, thought it was really good.

I have the mango in now and it's a decent unusual portion. Tastes more of a subtle mint with fruit. Not really mango though.

I'll probably order another can of the spice, it went great with my tea.

I spent the most time with Chaini Khaini Spice. This was my favorite of the batch. Upon opening the can, the aroma is similar to Tiger Balm (don't let that scare you off), it's the more pleasant aromas of Tiger Balm such as Menthol and Camphor. It's very unique, but very good. I actually went to pick up Tiger Balm after I heard someone say that was what the smell reminded them of, because originally I was thinking Vicks....but after smelling Tiger Balm (and, coincidentally, enjoying it), I found it to be very similiar. After putting in a portion, almost immediately (every time, I should note), a slight tingle comes on from the mint, and a spicy flavor. Cardamom is very recognizable, as well as a pleasant mingling of ginger and subtle hints of parsley (which I could pick up easily, I put parsley in EVERYTHING and greatly enjoy it, so it was good to see this flavor was recognizable) in the background, not too strong, but present with the other flavors. These flavors blend very well together in a pleasant, flavorful experience. At no point during this snus did I pick up any strong tobacco flavors, it was more like an afterthought. The flavor stays strong for about an hour, but after that it becomes a bit "too much" for me, and I have to take it out. But that hour is the most unique experience I've ever had with a snus. The aftertaste is very interesting as well, quite good!

The Chaini Khaini Mango begins with the same aroma as the Spice, reminiscent of Tiger Balm, but with a slightly sweet aroma laying over the top of the Camphor scent. The flavor comes on immediately with a tingly feeling and a minty flavor, before an artificial fruit flavor comes in that tastes slightly similar to Mango, however I will go on record as saying the Offroad Mango tastes alot more natural. That doesn't mean this snus is bad - it just means the approach is different. This snus has a spicy flavor, with a sweet fruit flavor (kinda like mango, but not really) wrapped around a mint flavor. Again, no tobacco flavors, maybe as an afterthought, but not something that you could easily detect unless you were really picking through the flavors of Chaini Khaini Mango to find it. The flavors good for about 45 minutes to an hour, but after that becomes a bit TOO much and I have to take the portion out.

So, what's the bottom line? Chaini Khaini is a very interesting new snus line. For so long, V2 has been the only company with interesting flavors, followed by Swedish Match and their Catch Collection line so it's a good thing to see new flavors being brought to the market. The flavors in both of these are unique and interesting, and although not something I'd use regularly, it is an interesting go-to when I want something different.
