    New Flavors of Offroad

I know some of you have already seen this but I was over at SnusCentral and was especially like the sound of the mandarin and moonshine. I not so sure about the rest though.

My question is Offroad similar in taste and quality to Thunder? I am down to my Thunder Wintergreen, Frost, and Blue as well as the can of Elixyr Energy so will be making another order soon. I was considering ordering some of the Offroad products.

PMD, honestly, these will be like nothing V2 has ever offered before. Iw as part of a small group who was asked to test these 6 months ago. If you do a search for "V2 Test Snus" you should find all the review threads.

This is a limited edition release.

As for your answer, Offroad is nothing like Thunder. But these will be unlike anything Offroad has put out before.

Personally, I like the Offroad Original Pouches quite a bit. I have some Thunder in the freezer but haven't tried them yet. I find Odens Original sorta similar to Offroad.

Having read all of the review threads, I'm now pretty excited to try all of these. (Or all the ones that are going to be released any way.)

I am kinda saddened that it seems a lot of interesting people seem to have disappeared from the forum in the past six months.

Finally, Sage, I have a small bone to pick...

Give me a break. have any of y'all ever met any of the boys that make moonshine??? Sublime, that's a hoot. Put it this way. Johnson county, one county away, is the long time center of moonshine country here. There are still occasional arrests for it here every year. And until not long ago, AFTER I came here 14 years ago, Johnson County was also known for having a sign at the beginning of town that said Welcome to Johnson County, home of the KKK.

Just saying, real North Carolina moonshine is not known for being sublime.
Your comments about shine in Johnston Co are true. However, having grown up in Johnston County (My grandfather used to run sugar for Percy Flowers, the local shine lord...) and having lived there for 25 of my 27 years on this earth, I've been on almost every stretch of highway, backroad and dirt road there. I never recall seeing any "home of the KKK sign." Now this is not to say there wasn't one there before I can remember (born in '82) and not to say that I didn't know a few Klan members and ignorant, racist people in general. I just don't remember it being something that was that public. I'm kinda curious as to where this sign was purported to be.

That being said, JoCo is a very different place now than it was 15 or 20 years ago.

Anyway, sorry to threadjack, sorry for bringing up six month old comments, and sorry to nitpick, Sage. Just gotta defend my old stomping grounds...

EDIT: Back on topic, I kinda wish V2 had chosen to release the Spekulatius. That sounded pretty tasty...

LOL Redbeard, a local boy!!! WTH are you doing in Oklahoma??

From what I know, it was on the left as you headed north on I-95 into Smithfield. Taken down in the late 1980's. Do a quick Google search on Johnston county and "welcome to the home of the KKK" You will fiond more info and blogs that talk about it.

But yes, Johnston County has changed much just in the 14 years I have been here now.

And I totally agree, Spekulatius was one of my favorites

Hmm... I don't remember that sign. But depending on when it was taken down, I was only 5 or 6 years old and wouldn't have known what it was anyway...

I ended up in OK by way of Kansas City. Moved out to the Midwest to work with my brother, then we moved down here a little over a year ago. I actually plan to move back home by the end of the year.

Please, please, please let me know when you do.

There does seem to be some dispute about when It got taken down. But it is a part of the history in Johnston county. Look, I live in Wake county, I HAVE to look down on Johnston country, I signed that contract when I moved in here.

Definitely will let you know, Sagely One.

I know everyone in Wake, Durham, and Orange counties looks down on Johnston County. It's OK. I'm used to it. It's still home, though, and I like it anyway. Besides we can look down on Wayne and Sampson counties.

A genuine interest in snus is what led the brothers Marc and Patrick Vogel to launch V2 Tobacco in 2006. Production began on a small scale, but increased as a result of demand until the brothers outgrew their factory. ...

Started by Marc and Patrick Vogel, V2 Tobacco began manufacturing Swedish snus in Silkeborg, Denmark in 2006, to the same exacting standards that snus manufactured in Sweden is.

Below is a list of the brands and varieties produced by V2 Tobacco:
