This is true. Even so, it's not unthinkable for someone who likes licorice to discover that they *really* like anise.

I like licorice and dislike anise. I love LD black. I dislike Gotlands Grå.
At some point I want to try v2's licorice flavoured lös.
I haven't tried either yet. I do agree with lxskllr that the Gots is, well, "herbal and complex". I haven't been emphasizing "flavoreds", but licorice is probably something I could get into.

I like the "adult" flavors for the most part. Licorice, juniper, mint(kind of kiddie like :^D), bitter citrus, and things like that I enjoy. Some of the candy snus tastes good, but it isn't what I look for in tobacco.

LD Black. I honestly don't even like black licorice, but I kinda like these for some odd reason. It literally tastes like a stick of black licorice candy to me, but not too strong.

Very different. Catch is much dryer in taste and texture. LD has an almost oily quality to it, and it tastes sweet without being sweet. Catch is worth a try just for comparisons sake, but I think LD is the superior product in every aspect.

                      LD Black

LD Black was formulated by Gallaher in 2006 as the first in a now defunct series of high-aroma colored-pouch snuses which would have been aimed straight at the EU. Swedes love 'salmiak,' which is the root flavor of licorice, but rather than appeal to the Swedes' love of salt in this mix, Gallaher decided to go a bit sweeter, and coat it in a cool jet-black pouch. What came out was sheer magic for those who like a desserty licorice flavor and a 'luxurious' pouch

LD Black really stands alone as an anomaly in the snus world, and if JTI keeps it around, it may be a fine way to enter the EU or even the US, where "LD" is fully protected by JTI for all tobacco products.

How about Roda Lacket Claq Qui? Vegan said it was a beefed up Roda. How does it compare in taste to LD Black? Might buy both when money flow improves.

My mom had bought some Adams BlackJack gum and I couldn't remember if I liked it but tried it today. Good stuff. I know it won't the same as licorice flavored tobacco but wanted to get a hint of what to expect because I know I didn't eat licorice candy when I was a kid.

I don't taste any licorice in Claq Qui at all. That said, Claq Qui, based on taste alone, may be my favorte snus.

I just was wondering going by the description on GetSnus.com. Thanks for the input.

PMD - what did you settle on for your licorice?

I just got 2 cans of LD Black in from Northerner - FABULOUS! If you like the salty European licorice this is it.
