Tryed loose snus for the first time today

On my last order from Getsnus, I ordered a can of Offroad Cranberry loose and a Prismaster. Was at work today and figured... what the hell, let me try some loose. Went to my fridge at work ( where I stash some of my snus ) and got my Offroad Cranberry

I stuck the prismaster in to the can, then started to handbake it. Tryed baking it for about 15 minutes and finally got a stable cylinderical nugget of tobacco.

Put it up top, and I must say.. The taste is wonderful and the nicotine absorption is much more enjoyable. Kept up pretty nice for about 45 minutes when I decided to spit it out, it broke in to 2 pieces but never got a mudslide.

Another Loose convert here. Now time for an Icetool!

Hang on I’m confused. Did you hand bake it or use the prismaster? In most cases its one or the other. If you use a tool, you will use it to compress and shape the pris (not just extract the tobacco from the can). Afterwards you may do a little fine tuning by hand but the primary work is done with the tool itself. It sounds to me like you did the majority of the forming by hand?

The only reason I’m asking is that you might not be getting the full advantage of the tool.

Regardless, the pound always rejoices to hear the fledgling yelps of another young pup on the lös.

Most people compress the snus in the Prismaster, but some people do what you did. They use the Prismaster as sort of a measuring tool, then shape the pris by hand.

Ill try compressing the snus in to the prismaster.. Maybe thats why my pris came out very loose since it was not packed that well when I put it into the can.

Kind of, but it depends on how you like to do it. With the prismaster and IceTool, you stab it into the snus and fill it, then press the plunger to compress the snus(not the easiest with the Prismaster), then inject it under your lip. Your hands should never really touch the snus when using a tool. The Prismaster doesn't work as well, so you may find that method a little difficult. Also, I generally prefer to handbake V2 snus. The IceTool packs it too tight, and it feels like a rock under my lip. I haven't had the Cranberry, but Phantom and Offroad is like that for me.

I was just thinking yesterday, I'm all but done with portions. There's a couple I'll buy for something different, but I'm finished trying new portion snus that comes out. I just don't enjoy it that much, and I'm anxious for the can to be done so it's gone :^D

If Gotland comes out with a portion only snus I'll give it a try, but otherwise I think I'm done with portions.

I use the prismaster the same way you did. Prismaster for measurement, compress a little, shoot it in my hand, and handbake the rest of the way. I'm thinking when I get an icetool, I can skip the handbake part.
