In America "nobody" know about snus, except for a few (probably we account for a large number of them), so this is "revolutionary" in America. That's probably their thought process.

      In the USA

From what I understand, Swedish Match is perfectly capable of producing snus in the US right now. PM is known to be sitting on loads of machines, and Nordic American and American Smokeless already have operational factories.

Snus from Sweden will go away quite soon, especially with PACT looming.

        And then...
        1. Higher prices and taxes
        2. Limited selection
        3. Older product
        4. And finally, snus that has begun to cut corners to keep up with the profit margins of American dip

Shh... PACT will not pass, at least not this year.

Problem for me aj01, I don't like any Swedish match products. None of them are in anything close to regular use by me, I *could* deal with general white if that was my last choice.

So I want the market here to be big enough to get the smaller players to figure out how to distribute here. At least me, and maybe you could comment, but seems to me that America is a much larger potential market for all non Swedish match companies. Just Sweden so locked up it seems, only here do folks use everything possible.

So when can we get Fiedler & Lundgren, Gallaher, and others here.

Gotta edit something here....Just realized Swedish Match makes 01 & 02. I take back what I said, finally two snuses they make I like and will probably use....a lot.

Obviously it matters BIG time if the day comes we can no longer order online. until then, I am right there with you.

Certain stores may quit carrying Camel SNUS if the profit is less than the cost of carrying it. Rest assured, Camel SNUS is NOT being discontinued. There is a wintergreen flavor in the works, called "Wintermint". R.J. Reynolds is still promoting Camel SNUS aggresively; this product will not go away any time soon.

I liked the infused the best out of the sig. series of smokes. If they come out with a new flavor, I'll try it. It will probably still be bad though. I think Camel did a good thing with snus, as they introduced me to the real thing. I think only the really intelligent/bored at work with the internet will actually research snus, and find us and the real thing. I have a friend in Cali who bought a can of Mellow and called me before he tried it because I've raved to him before about snus. I told him that the Camel is really sweet. He hates sweet, and is one of those that appreciate good tobacco. He went to Getsnus and ordered the white sampler and a can of Thunder Frosted. He never tried the Camel.

I have heard nothing of the sort, but nothing would make me happier. I always thought that the major cigarette companies would just screw snus up, and even worse, bring attention to where I wish it wasn't.

I would just rather let snus develop slowly here, and have true born in the USA companies like Discreet work to bring it out more, ALL under the radar of course.

But all I have read about Camel snus lately is how much money they are spending pushing it. It has been in a bunch of major magazines just this past month, so the idea that Camel would discontinue it makes no sense.
The thing is, we want less people to know about snus. Tobacco will eventually become illegal in the west. This seems to be a fact. The less people know of snus, the better. There will be less laws against it, restrictions, bans, etc.

I know American big tobacco is well aware of snus. With all of the impending laws surrounding cigarettes, and products like Camel SNUS, it's just a matter of time before snus takes off I believe.
