    Two months in

Today marks my second full month with Swedish snus. I've been around this forum, at first as a lurker, for something like three. I don't know if I would have even started without the reinforcement from snuson; and from the conversations here I've gotten so much in terms of what to try, how to do it, and where (and how) to buy it.

Another day is getting on and I haven't even thought about cigarettes until now, as I write about the fact that I'm not smoking lately. It just isn't an important part of my life right now. Snus has filled that space, and then some.

I write this knowing that I'm only at a certain moment. One of the things snus has to teach seems to me to be about a continual awareness of change--about how our tastes change--how our perceptions can change.

Before snus, I began hand-rolling my cigarettes. I did this for roughly the last year and a half. It had some things to teach too, about carefulness, and patience, and concentration; lots of things, really. it is a little craft.

Snus is a craft, too, I dare say, or maybe a set of crafts, and I'm only getting started with it. It's kind of exciting, and it's great to be able to share the experience with others.

    Thanks, forum. Enjöy the snus.

Thanks, Sage. Although... I did it again, didn't I? This is probably not the right forum. *sigh*

It works for me, though. This wasn't about health as much as just--snus, and companionship.

Was never really about health for me either. Huge bonus, yes, but never what motivated me. I just fell in love with snus, the idea behind snus, the history, everything. And just a so much better nicotine delivery vehicle

What's great about snus, is this is MUCH more to me than smoking. When I was a smoker, I wasn't on forums. I didn't make a website. I didn't I didn't do anything that I ENJOY doing for snus. This is not just a great way to get nicotine (although it is great for that), it's a wonderful hobby. And one of the best parts of it has been being here on SnusOn and making alot of great friends.

I hear you. Although I'm only two months in, it's already more than smoking was to me. It's a fascination.

I mean, I've got every can I've ever emptied. I may build a monument. Well, I know that's come up before.

A gay friend of mine once told me that it's so much more interesting to be gay than straight, because they can be part of a community, have their own bars and clubs etc.

I was just thinking by way of analogy here: snus users are the gays of the tobacco world!

For those of us who are not inclined to join the actual gay community, but remain stuck in boring and bland heterosexuality, maybe we should organize snus-based political movements and start frequenting special bars and clubs, where we can sit and compare the flavor and image of each individual brand, and whether grov goes better with blues or with country etc.. Maybe there should even be a SNUS PRIDE FESTIVAL!
