    Had first cigarette since July

I was out last night with some guys I hadn't seen for a long time and had two cigarettes for the first time since I quit in July. I was craving them a little since I was drinking, but really was craving being outside with something hanging from my mouth. I had all the nicotine I needed from the Skruf White portion I had in my mouth.

So I go outside to have the first one, light up, and immediately feel like I'm 13 again smoking a cigarette for the first time. It tasted nothing like it did when I smoked. I also couldn't fully inhale anymore. I also didn't really feel that cigarette buzz that I used to get.

I had another one later on that I had absolutely NO craving for. I just had it because we were headed home, and it was not good.

    I think I'm officially an ex-smoker now.

my girlfriends uncle cuts straws to the length of cigs, that way he still covers that craving of having something in his mouth, but without having an actual cig. Maybe if you take a couple and do that, it'll help you curb the urge when with friends.

I have some e-cigs if I really need them. They were really good when I was trying to get off cigs at first. I just wanted to try a cigarette again to see what it would be like, and it was as expected (terrible).

They still smell and taste good too me. When you go awhile without them, and have one, they taste completely different than when you chain smoke. I enjoy the occasional one, knowing that one doesn't lead to another. I can pop a snus in and forget I ever any had a cigarette.

To be honest, they were starting to taste terrible before I quit. They were relaxing, but I always felt like sh!t when I smoked. And even worse in the morning.

I still have some Eclipse cigs in a drawer... I just never think about them.

I think cigarettes taste like crap. It becomes even more apparent when you get to try some fine tobacco in snus or a nice cigar. Even dip, chew, bandits... etc. taste 10x better then cigarettes, IMO.

I love cigarettes, I always will. As I have posted so many times, one of my greatest pleasures in using snus is that I CAN now have that cigarette when that is what I want. And having one or two cigarettes doesn't change anything.

My opinion also, I was never a smoker or even into dipping (call me an idiot for intentionally trying to get into snus), but I really can't stand cigarette smoke on my clothes even after becoming used to and enjoying tobacco. I don't even really smell or taste any tobacco in american cigarettes. Really just something to focus on when you need it.

after 22 years of smoking I realized that for 18 of them I didn't really enjoy smoking. Was just puffing to satisfy nicotine craving. i do not even like to be in the room with a lit cigarette now.

Exactly. Before, if I stopped smoking for awhile and then lit up once, I'd be right back on (off?) the wagon. I'm sure I'll have a cigarette here or there in the future for old times sake, but I know they won't have any hold on me anymore. Huzzah for snus!

I had my first cigarette in about 2 months last weekend. Didn't feel any need for it, just wanted one. Figured out that I don't really miss it at all.

I was really craving a cigarette for the first time sober in probably 7 months or so during a really stressful and intensive job interview the other day. I still get cravings while drinking, but don't enjoy the taste nowhere near as much as I did. It's more for the immediate rush of nicotine and ritual of it all.

I recently had a trip back to England to visit family. Pretty much 90 % of the people i visited while there smoke. The flight was good because i had snus but i was travelling for almost 24 hours. When i got there i got real stressed (lack of sleep and other factors) so once i got out of Heathrow. I went and bought some cigs and a lighter and lit one up. It tasted good and served it purpose. I smoked for the rest of the time i was there. Once i got back here i went back to snus.
I'm kinda like Sage i guess, i don't mind having a few or even a pack every now and then. I know i can have one, two or a pack and then go for weeks or months before having another one.
Right now the thing that stops me smoking is the smell that is associated with cigs. I still enjoy the act of smoking but snus is just better all round IMO.
