    Coffee/Tea snus?

I had an idea to replace some of the tobacco in a snus with some coffee and/or tea. Tea and coffee share many of the same flavor profiles of tobacco and I think this could help with a few things. It could give the tobacco a richer, darker, more fermented taste. It could help to lower the nicotine level while still having a kick, and it could reduce the cost associated with tobacco. I am finding it very difficult to procure tobacco that lives up to the reduced tsna levels of Swedish snus.

Of course this is getting further and further from the classic snus everyone loves but I am trying to produce something that fits my tastes from scratch and I haven't really developed a love for the classically flavored snus. I guess I am kinda going down the route of American snus. I know this is sort of sacrilegious for a lot of snus lovers but for those that haven't used a large amount of snus yet we don't have expectations of what snus "should" be.

So far I am already sweetening and flavoring my snus to a slightly smaller degree then a product like Discreet. Then substituting a bit of coffee and tea would be straying even more from the standard so perhaps a name change is in order. Yankee Tobaccy?

Level is described in some places as including the flavor of black tea, so at least that gives you something to aspire to

I went ahead and made some portions and minis.

          I used:
          6 parts odens extra sterk
          1 part lipton tea
          1 part starbucks breakfast blend
2 drops per gram liquid stevia

          Thats about 1/4 coffee/tea.

I will let you guys know how it tastes after dinner.

So I tried it and it tastes very good. Doesn't really taste like coffee but it gives it a creamy quality that is very nice IMO.

As far as the caffeine though , I don't think this will have much of an effect. I did some research online and though starbucks breakfast blend is a fairly highly caffeinated coffee the total amount of caffeine in the portion would not contain more then 8mg of caffeine and even if you absorbed all of that it doesn't really compare to the average 100mg in a 8oz cup of coffee.

But, I like the effect it has on taste and getting 1/4 more portions out of a can of los sounds good to me. So I think I will make this a regular thing. I do wish I could figure out how to simulate the effects of energy snus in some way.

I am totally clueless when it comes to making snus, but isn't there powder caffeine?? Would that throw the tobacco flavor way off?? Cocaine may be a better option except for its blasted numbing effects. Kidding, of course...

Yes, it seems there is. 200, 200mg capsules for $6 on Amazon. Good idea.

Seems like the energy snus' list 20-30 mg per portion.

I also see taurine powder on Amazon.

                      tea?

May I suggest a good keemun tea with snus or snuff (either oral or nasal) also a tea called HuKwa from mark wendell of boston. A lapsang Suchong with its smokiness would be nice. Lapsang is smoked over pine needles. (reminds me of Latakia tobacco)

I will look for them at the store, but what is it that you think would be good about these specific teas? I'm not really looking to overwhelm the tobacco and smokey is not something that I really enjoy.

I'm too lazy to be cutting or sewing snus portions, but I have drank some cheap black coffee while snusing. I hope I am rightfully recognized as a pioneer.

                            teas and snus

The teas mentioned I believe would marry well with certain snusses. the woodsy "plain" snusses I believe would be the best. The Keemun is a tradional chinese variety . I have tried with Grove and found it good
