Yeh I heard the same thing. If you have the flu now it is a very good chance it is H1N1.

I think it could be possible that snus could have an effect on transmission of viruses since it alters the ph in the mouth. Just a guess but it sounds possible.

I hardly ever get the sicknesses that my wife and son get but my wife just told me today that a coworker in her group has a pregnant wife and toddler that have H1N1 and though he is not coming to work as of today she is paranoid about having already gotten it from him. But, I figure if he didn't have any symptoms yet he probably wasn't sneezing or coughing or wiping his infection mucous on things yet.

Double check with doc about you daughter. This thing IS dangerous for kids, most of the deaths have been kids Chad. Please, don't just be stupidly stubborn

My pediatrician doesn't recommend the vaccine for toddlers but she said if they get a fever of 101 or higher bring them in immediately for antibiotics.

I read this article, and it offered some reassurance.

"Earlier this year (read very early July) - my oldest child come back from a foreign country. Soon after, said child and another person on the trip were sick. The other was confirmed H1N1. A couple of days later our youngest two were exhibiting classic symptoms of H1N1, and so we went to urgent care. All of the kids were prescribed Tamiflu. They also got to keep the face-masks handed out at urgent care - we were quite the sight and had a whole section of the waiting area all to ourselves.

After a week of Tamiflu for the kids and the whole family going stir-crazy being quarantined in our home, no one else got sick. No one.

So, three kids had H1N1, the rest of the family didn’t get sick even though we were exposed (and in very close quarters) for more than a week.

Therefore, no H1N1 vaccinations in our home - we don’t need them. We’ve already got our immunization."

I also heard only 25% of H1N1 infections show symptoms.

"If _____________________, ya might have H1N1."

Jeff Foxworthy could be the voice of the commercials.

I like how the guy on Wired noticed classic symptoms for a disease that no one's seen before a year or two ago. Honestly, I think I might already have had it, but even if I haven't, I'm not going for the free vaccines my university's offering. Two reasons for that. First, every time I go for a vaccine, the nurse I get is a twat that rams the needle in as hard as possible, seemingly at random (honest, last flu vaccine I got she damn near had the needle perpendicular to my arm), and it's generally unpleasant. Aside from that, there's the fact that a good chunk of the time the vaccines don't work anywise. I don't see the point in getting a flu shot when there's a high chance they've either predicted the wrong variant will be dominant this year, or the thing can mutate fast enough to work around the vaccine anywise. Personal opinion though.

H1N1 is a virus, antibiotics have absolutely NO effect on it.

yeah dood. I'm really sick too. snus gives me kind of a metal taste in my mouth. Tobacco usage always sucks right about now. I dunno if it's swine flu, or what. I haven't bothered going to the doctors. Just really weird symptoms. As of now it's fatigue and body aches, and an over all feeling of shit. Started with a dry cough, sore throat and that was a week ago. Who knows. . .

Well maybe she said antivirals but she certainly said don't wait for it to get bad for the kids.

I generally really like the juice and think 01/02 are ok flavor wise but I don't like the dripless quality. But they are perfect for a sore throat.

I used what I had at the time (Roda Lacket) when I had H1N1. The worse part was work being a bunch of idiots and telling me to come in or lose my job. Real smart to have an employee come in to work at a grocery store when they have that....
