they sold it for a while in regular cans. it was higher priced by maybe a dollar or so a can. i bought it then and it was good. after they quit making it they started doing this box thing. one year after they had sold all the boxes they could, buysnus gave me one of the leftover boxes for free. it still had about a month left on the date. it was good but you want catch me paying $66 for one. i might pay $15 maybe $20 counting shipping but no more. unless you have money running out your ears you will be sorry when the two cans of loose are gone :-( thats $33 a can. thats my 2 cents for free. i will wait and see if there are any leftovers for discount prices ha

What makes Kardus 2009 so special?

Kardus 2009 is almost here. Alot of people are wondering, should I pay 50-60 bucks for a can of snus? What makes Kardus 2009 unique? Why is it a snus like no other? Well, Kardus 2009 is truly a labor of love. Alot goes into this snus to yield some truly amazing results. This year - only 500 cans were made. Alot of attention goes into every single can that is released to ensure Kardus has a quality that lives up to the name that this yearly release is known for.



The 2009 Kardus Superior Blend contains Argentinean (from Salta, at the foot of the Andes), and Guatemalan tobacco. In the Nueva Concepcion and La Maquina area (in the southwestern part of Guatemala), a special tobacco that is air-cured in barns build from eucalyptus trees was found that has chocolate, nut and fruity notes was found and chosen to be a companion to the Argentinean tobacco.



What makes Kardus so special? Well, the techniques. Everyday snus is ground, and the tobacco is crushed, for most snus. Much like a chef knows that garlic will taste different if it is sliced or crushed, the makers of Kardus know the cutting method will yield a better tobacco. The entire tobacco leaf - including the stalk, is used in production. In Kardus, however, only the actual tobacco leave itself is used in production. The tobacco leaves are cut, rather than ground. This has a large effect on the taste. This provides are more mild and complex aroma. Kardus uses the long cut method, which produces something similiar to pipe tobacco. After being cut, the tobacco is "sweated" and salt is added, and then the next step.



Kardus 2009 is flavored with a dark Guatemalen dark rum that was stored 23 years in oak barrrels. This rum is regarded by most as the finest in the world, it has a deep, pure flavor, much like a Cognac - but having hints of hazelnut and nutmeg. When this snus is stored, these aromas mix with those of the tobacco blend, and mature to a tropical, Caribbean aroma.

It's from a press release I have....so it's technically not. I'll go back and add a little disclaimer onto the end of it.

Information is from a Swedish Match press release.

That was added onto the end.

It's not the actual words, I read through it and wrote down what I wanted out of it, and since the information was released TO ME and to many other people who have websites, including BuySnus (their information is similar to my information), you could accuse them of the same thing. BUT product information is different.

It's the same with Video Game descriptions. You'll find they're all the same. Movie descriptions? Most stores get the same one from manufacturers. It's alot like that. Same with pictures of new products. You could say, "Hey, Best Buy has the same picture of a VCR as Wal-Mart." or "Hey, Sams Club has the same description for Zombie Strippers as Best Buy." Well, that's because it's the same product. Some reword, some don't. But when information is released to them, they can use it.

Go read my preview of 0102 from a few months ago on my website, or on here. Check Northerner, BuySnus, GetSnus, SnusCENTRAL....everyone website that has info about it. Most of us have the same thing. It varies here and there. Why are there no disclaimers about where the info or pics are from? Because we all had the info from the same place, at the same time, and we all displayed it in our own way. This product is no different.

But seriously, i have had a change of heart on my view about this snus. I opened up the red tin (the inside liner) took a wiff, and grand flavors invaded me. The box is garbage IMHO.


Edit: i have constructed a bear pong table out of some of my snus tins, and i bring it with me almost where ever i go. It makes a nice coffee table as well.

I know. I got a splinter from mine last year. Perhaps thats why i have some issues about this snus. They could at least scrap the box and sell it cheaper or put it into something of quality.
