It appears to last well for years.

I have had it at least a year after the best buy date, others have gone at least 18 months after the best buy date. All with NO issues

So far I have had cans frozen since March 09 - with no issues.
I put them in ziplock freezer bags. I recently did an inventory and found a misfiled can of General OG portion & Skruf stark OG portion, frozen in March- snus was just as fresh / moist as a new can.

I pulled out a Knox from late 07 out of the freezer, almost like new! And i don't use freezer bags or anything of the sorts. But i do have a dedicated deep freeze for my snus.

            How to keep Snus fresh
The shelf life of Swedish Snus depends on a number of factors i.a. the water content. A lower moisture level results in a longer shelf life. Moist Snus has a limited shelf life and should not be kept in room temperature for more that a couple of weeks. Dry portion packs, however, do not have this limitation.

The general recommendation is to keep moist Snus refrigerated. The Snus will then be very stable and can be kept for several weeks.

To keep Snus for a longer period it should be frozen and you can keep it for at least a year. To avoid frozen Snus from drying out you should freeze it in a freezing bag. Thawing of Snus in cardboard cans should be done in a refrigerat, thus eliminating the condensation water to dissolve the glue in the can. Plastic cans are not sensitive to external moisture and can be thawed in room temperature.

I've been using some Los and Portions from well over a year ago and still just as good as the day i got it. I personally put mine in a couple ziplock bags with the air taken out of them the best I can. That seems to work fine for me.

Mods - Could someone please sticky a thread like this? This one comes up all the time, I figure it's something we could put up once and throw our input into and leave be.

                  8) 8) 8) I agree with Chad. 8) 8) 8)

I freeze ALL my snus. I use freezer bags, and seperate unopened snus(In one or more bags), and opened snus (in another bag). My can which is currently in heavy use is in my pocket till its gone. Others, I just pull a portion straight from the freezer, which is excellent(especially General Wintergreen, andThunder Frosted/Wintergreen).

I just throw my cans in the freezer. Been doing that going on 3 years.

I snus very rarely and was smart enough to keep all my cans in the fridge, but not smart enough to try the freezer. Oddly enough, after a year of having some cans in there, the only one I would consider still fresh is a can of knox, which was a cheaper snus I knew nothing about when I bought it.

                      edit

I'm not saying knox is any better, just magic.
