Suggestion my friend, don't ever start smoking pipes. You think your snus addiction is bad, there are folks on that forum who have 15 years of tobacco in storage. Pipe tobacco just gets better the longer it ages. So going forward, I need to buy two of everything I buy. One tobacco to smoke now, one to put away for a few years
First, I would not start cellering Tobacco just yet, cause guess what- your taste will change. Most start with aromatics and then progress to more natural blends (sound familure?)
Second, below is a link to a great site for tobacco reviews (you can search by the brand (e.g. Dunhill night cap) or by blend (e.g. English, Balkin, Virgina, Burley, etc...). Here's the link

Also have you tried McClelland's Frog Morton on the Town? It's one of the best intro blends out there.

Originally posted by chadizzy1I've been shopping around too. My freezer is getting packed, it's unorganized (which drives me crazy), and I need more room. I just want one that isn't an eyesore.
How many of those cans will you still have a year from now?
Use more store less.

I've been working on liquidating a few, through trades and through a box pass challenge I just sent out in the mail recently. So it's getting better, but I've been using the "Stock it cheap, stock it deep" mentality, ordering more in advance, keeping my orders large so that I keep everything rotated and fresh.
I may be doing a big snus giveaway soon or something.

I used to mix two parts Frog Morton Town with one part Frog Morton. Made it a little deeper with out losing the complexity of FM Town. When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

So post I made on SF two day's ago....
Originally posted by sagedilGreat hobby, yes. Hobby that is gonna get me in deep trouble...yes.
So had such great plans. But at every stage, i seem to be moving faster than i planned. Didn't wait as long as I had planned to smoke my pipe. then had planned on smoking Prince Albert for a while, then that morphed into bugging my friend to send samples as fast as possible. Then tonight, sitting here, reading, and I find myself on Tobacco Reviews.com. Big mistake.
So like a a blind man being called to the light, I make my way over to Smoking Pipes and order just some of the 4 star review tobaccos that just sounded good. I figure I have to start somewhere and this way seemed to make the most sense. So I got a 2 oz tin of Cornell & Diehl Epiphany and Sunday Picnic and a 2 ox tin of G. L. Pease Westminster.
At least I managed not to buy a new pipe today. I am in so much trouble says the guy who just made a $93 snuff order last week.
Did you really think that me, Sagedil, would even bother with an aromatic?? smoked a nice easy Burly, Prince Albert, to start, and jumped to a great English blend my third day. Today I smoked Epiphany
My plan is if I reorder any tobacco after trying it once. i will buy one to cellar for every one I smoke now. But I don't expect to have too many of any one for at least a year or two, as I will always be trying new blends for the next couple of years. if find am buying the same one still with some frequency, I may also cellar a bit more of it. So over say two years, I eect to cellar about 30 tobaccos, and probably at least 20 -25 of those will all be something different.
Part of my push into pipes is the boredom largely feel with snus. Since it is something i use all day, every day, I tend to gravitate towards those few snus can tolerate all day every day. but smoking a pipe, even at 4 bowls a day which is as much as I have done from my first day smoking, will always be a bit more special. I am hoping to still be exploring new tobaccos 10 years from now, even as I enjoy tobacco I have aged for a number of years too
