    Triumph Snus labeling

    Hey guys,
First off I've been a lurker on here for a long time. I've been using snus for a while, but when college started in August I started dipping. It was great and all but I've decided to go back to snus because of the obvious health risks associated with American dip. It's not worth it to me. My gums are already thanking me for making the switch back. My mouth just feels cleaner overall now.

Anyways, I've been using Triumph snus and while I know I really should try the true Swedish snus, it's kind of a pain to have it shipped here living on campus and all. I was curious about why the Triumph cans have the "Warning: This product may cause mouth cancer" label on it. I know Triumph is made in Sweden so I assume it is regulated by the Swedes just like General, Ettan, etc. are. So this stuff should have the same very low health risks as other real snus brands. Right? I'm into using snus because, well I just like it, it relaxes me, helps me focus, and the most important part is that the risk of having half my jaw taken off isn't really there with snus.

Thanks in advance for the help!

    First, welcome to Snuson WindyCityFlyer

Relax, it has the exact same health benefits as any snus made Sweden, and it IS made in Sweden. BUT....t s sold here in the US, so needs those requred labels. Any snus you get from Getsnus, since Getsnus is located here in the US, have the same stupid labels. A silly, but meaningful reason I don't like to order from Getsnus as I think the labels make the can look ugly. Only reason oher snus doesn't carry them is they are imported privately from Sweden. But go pick up a can of General sold locally, you will see t too

Welcome to Snuson WCF! The labels are on there because it's mandatory in in the U.S. If you notice they say government mandated. When you order snus from Sweden it's usually just a sticker on the can, not on the actual label. The only cans that have it printed on the label are sold with the U.S. in mind.

Thanks man. Glad to know, I figured it was just some stupid thing that the US put on. I've been snooping around the local smokeshops looking for some general but no luck yet. But for the time being the Triumph isn't too bad. It so hard to not go back to dip because I go to school in the deep south where it seems like EVERYONE dips. But I know I'll never go back because everytime I get the urge to go pick up some nasty Grizzly I think of what could happen to my health down the road and how screwed up my gums got from dipping. Snus has really saved me.

You can go to the General website, they have a store locator that will let you know if anywhere around you sells it.

            Welcome WindyCityFlyer,

The reason for the warning is snus doesn't have it's own category.
            Snus is moist snuff
            Copenhagen is moist snuff

            Guilt by association.

Have you just ordered snus online?? love Triumph, really do. But couldn't use it all the time. No need to pick up general locally, just order what ou want onlne.

              But...

f CC s is the issue, Go to General's store locator to find the closest retailer to you.

I wonder why the warning on Discreet is different.

Why not a prepaid credit card? Never used one wondering if they would work for an online snus purchase tho. Anybody have any experience?

Just what does the label on the bottom of the Swedish cans say? In English. It looks sorta like what UK Snuff warning label says.

It says: "This tobacco product can damage your health and is addictive".

The warning label is mandatory throughout the EU (in different languages).

I guess we need a FAQ, because we have translated and discussed the warning labels (and virtually all the other vital (newbie)-questions about snus) several times, but even the most advanced "search-expert" will have a hard time to find the threads.

                            Cheers!

                              Swedish/Norwegian warning on snus

"This tobacco product may be injurious to your health, and is habit-forming"
