The grey was an utter disaster. It smells and tastes exactly like nyquil cough syrup, which makes me wonder if they use anise too.
Yep, it sure is (Anis), that is why they printed it in large letters on the side of the can, along with in the description found on buysnus and northerner

Sorry, that came across a little ambiguous. I know they put anise in the grey, I meant that I wonder if they use it in nyquil to mask the alcohol/acetaminophen flavor.

ohhhh ok! yeah i tend to catch the wrong end of even the slightest of ambiguous statements.
anyway, I was wondering if anybody finds Gotlandssnus yellow to lose its flavor?
When I first started using it, was back a little before Christmas. Really enjoyed the heck out of it, set it aside for using other snus for about 3 weeks or so until a few days ago and yesterday as well. The last couple times using it I find it to be rather flat and rather lacking in flavor. Sorta pisses me off because I got 3/4 of a can left and I've been keeping it frozen in the freezer.
I'm wondering if keeping it frozen and thawing it for use over and over is screwing up the flavor

It could be. I don't really know, but in general I like to keep things(anything) at a constant state. Computers I keep at a constant temp, my car I keep at a constant rpm, and my snus I keep at a constant temp. I keep my stored snus frozen, but when I take it out of the freezer it goes in the fridge and stays there until it's gone.
Some rolls of snus come with a storage recommendation on the wrapper. If you translate it and convert to Fahrenheit, it says to store it in your refrigerator and not your freezer.

I think those instructions are for the normal usage pattern though. Snus is sold in Sweden with the understanding that it'll be used promptly, and not horded like I do :^P If you could get snus anytime you wanted, there wouldn't be much reason to buy more than 1 roll at a time. If I only had a roll, I'd just keep the whole thing in my fridge, because I would use it all before it got stale.
I have tried Julsnus, Green, Yellow, and Grey, all from my holiday order. I do not like Gotlandssnus, it seems. The flavourings go bitter (and not in that nice tobacco bitter way) quickly. I'll stick with my faves- Ettan, Grov, and Kronan. If I want flavourings, I'll opt for Goteborg.
I tried this Snus in my last shipment since I saw it was still made in smaller batches. I only tried the Christmas snus but enjoyed it quite a bit. although it wasn't terribly "powerful" the smell and taste was very enjoyable. It was not my everyday snus, but a piece in the evening was quite nice.
