    Chronicles of a new snusser

I'm a few weeks into fulltime snussing and can't say enough about the stuff. I'm sampling about a billion different flavors at the moment. Here's what I'm finding in terms of my tastes:

Gotesborgs Rape White (one of the most refreshing things I've ever put in my mouth)

General Onyx (working on my first portion right now. may merit a bump to the above category.)
General OP (almost overwhelming flavor and really drippy but I sort of like it - just not all the time)
Ettan (really mellow but in a good way - I'm thinking it would be delicious with a beer)

    :?
Catch Dry Eucalyptus OP (tasted great at first, went wonky on me later)

Skruf Original (started bad and only went downhill from there)

Any recommendations based on my tastes so far?

    Thanks!

Suggest Roda Lacket, it has that natural, fruity flavor kinda similiar to Goteborgs Rape. Also, GoteRape No2 I prefer to the original. The berry flavor seems more pure.

Suggest General White Portion, LD White, Nick&Johnny Strong and Nick&Johnny Black.

Yes simplle. Log on to either Buysnus and Northerner, and simply put in your cart EVERYTHING you haven't tried yet. You really do just have to try everything, and expect that it will take months and months before your tastes start to begin to stabilize.

Good call Chad - all of the types you mentioned are on my list of snuss to try.

Sage words, Sage - I've got about 20 untried types in the fridge... I'm well on my way.

And good call on the Roda Lacket. I've got some open in the fridge that I've smelled but haven't tried yet. Smells awesome.

Just tried one more that I absolutely hated. Gotlandssnus Yellow. Tasted like I was sucking on a bar of soap that had been used to bathe a pack of goats. Plus it gave me heartburn and almost turned my stomach. Yech!

          Ah... the trials and tribulations...

              Hey Daruckis,

Did you like the Gotlanssnus Yellow from the start or did it grow on you over time? I'm curious because it seems like a lot of folks here started out disliking a particular brand of snus but then grew to like it over time. Wondering if I should brace myself for a second shot at the ones I tried and hated...

Just moved on to a portion of Nick and Johnny Strong. The strong part is no joke!

I really liked Got Yellow from the first portion, then the los. But I love a bit of bitter in my snus. For some people their may be some adjusting to the taste, like the way one first becomes accustomed to coffee. Definitely keep retrying snuses you didn't like as they may become snuses you really enjoy later as your tastes develop and change.

If the Nick and Johnny is slapping you then I'd steer clear of Claq Qui for a bit.

Yes, yes, and yes again! This is standard advice always given to newbies. Never throw away a snus you think you dislike on first taste. Try it again in a few weeks, still not liking, put it away and try again in a few months. VERY common for folks to not take to a snus at first taste, only to discover upon revisiting that it has become one of their favorites. Probably 90% of the folks here will have stories about such.
