This is a visual comparison, not so much a taste comparison. This has probably been done before, but what the hell, I've got a camera--well, it's twenty dollars' worth of camera. So yeah, the pictures do suck.
Anyway, from left to right, for comparison purposes, are regular-size Granit portions, Granit Maxi portions, General Maxis, and General OPs. There are two of each, one seam-up and one seam-down, because I'm OCD like that.
The main thing to note is the Granit Maxis are basically the same width as your ordinary portion, only longer, whereas the Generals are enlarged through both (all? I gotta admit I didn't break out the calipers and measure their relative thicknesses) dimensions. This is probably a win for Granit, although I do love the big, juicy, fluffy pillows that are the General Maxis. I love them both, really. I almost ran out of Granit Maxis before I was able to do this important project, and had to chuck them in the 'fridge for a while.
Edit: Update: Following discussion, it appears that the General portions come in at around 1.7 grams each, while the Granit portions average 1.5 grams. There are (packing errors aside) 14 portions in each brand's maxi can, with the General can net contents 24g, and Granit 21g.
