    Bad Batch?

I recently got two five-can rolls of General Los from a popular online Snus site. I've a fairly new Snus-er, but I've gone through 4 cans of this before this recent order. When I opened the first can I was surprised to find the characteristic aroma of the first four cans, which were purchased from a different seller, was completely absent. I just tried out a second can, but it's the same. The stuff I now have has virtually no flavor either.

You'd think that maybe it went bad, but I can't taste any salt in it either, and salt doesn't deteriorate to the best of my knowledge. Furthermore, it's extemely moist, and bakes into a very solid hand made pris in less than 30 seconds. The first batch I had was drier. But it's just like a wad of nothing in my mouth. I should add that the strangest sensation is that less than five minutes after inserting a medium sized pris, I have about the worst case of cotton mouth I've ever had (about 6 times now). I've had expired white portions that made me salivate; even drinking doesn't help, it seems to stop my salivary glands and takes about 1/2 hour after removal before they're back to normal. The expiration date on all the cans is 1/26/10 so it's not expired.

Any ideas about what's going on? I have five other varieties at present, including three types of General Portions, and am enjoying them all, except for this one. Has anyone ever gotten a completely "off" batch of something?

No, that's strange. I've had expired snus before, and it was fine. I'm sure it happens though.

If you really think you have a bad batch, which seems like it can happen, and you have had the same snus before, and it was different, so, I mean, you are really confident it's not just in your mind, and the snus in question is not "good", then I would tell all this to the seller, even offer to send it back, so they know you are being truthfull, though I doubt they'd want it back, and I suspect they'd offer to send you a replacement.

You don’t have a bad batch of snus you just have a batch of General.

General is over priced, gooey, tobacco colored putty.

See we told you your taste would develop and they have. Now you will be able to impress your friends at the next caulk and cheese tasting party.

General is nasty man. In fact, here at the pound we just give it to the cats.

General is fine as long as you haven't burnt out some of your taste buds with dip beforehand :-D

General is awesome, even if you have burned out most of your taste buds with dip.

Must be a question of *which* taste buds. Hmm.
